Good Stuff!
When I first started reading it was as if I'd missed the beginning of the show. That however was not the case, the writer throws us right into the eye of the storm and weaves a fantastic story. I love with all of his faults Josh still wants to help Emma over come her troubles. We get a look not only at this coup!e but the brother and his wife and their mother. This story tells a story of a dark subject and the writer has handled this just beautifully. The chemistry is justspot on, not only between the two main characters but also with the supporting cast. This was really good writing, with a promise of the second part be just as good.

Josh and Emmy
I absolutely loved this duet. Josh was the ultimate anti-hero. His thoughts were hilarious and brought so much to his character. And Emmy was such a strong heroine. Josh and Emmy’s love for each other was timeless.I would definitely recommend reading the short prequel to this duet because it gives the reader a more in depth look at Josh and Emmy’s relationship in high school. Their instant attraction and Josh’s confusion and defiance of his feelings gave him some depth and the reader a good background. The path Emmy’s life took after Josh pushed her away was not an easy one, but it made her into the woman she was when she returned seven years later. The first book in this duet, Ruining Her, focused on Emmy’s path to healing and Josh’s determination to help Emmy heal and convince her to stay with him. It picked up right where The Merge series left off with Ella’s kidnapping, revealing that Emmy’s call to Josh was the first time he’d heard from her in seven years. Josh felt a lot of guilt for what happened to Emmy because he thought if he hadn’t pushed her away she wouldn’t have ended up in an abusive relationship. Both he and Emmy had to work through a lot of feelings and it all came to a head with that last sentence cliffhanger. The second book in this duet, Ruining Him, had a lot more action. It focused on finding and eliminating the threat to Emmy. She did a lot more healing once she finally started talking about her experiences from their time apart with Josh. And he learned how to better control his anger about those experiences.Josh and Emmy had a deep love for each other. This duet, while emotional, had some humor laced through. I loved the way Emmy stood up for Josh. She may have been traumatized, but that didn’t stop her from voicing her indignation at anyone disparaging Josh.I loved this duet. I’m glad I started reading Kylie Kent’s backlist from the beginning because it has me more excited to see what happens next. I cannot wait to see how Josh handles his daughter falling in love!

Josh and Emmy - incredible duo!
In all honesty, I never expected Josh to get his own book after being introduced to him in Entwined with Him. Don’t get me wrong, he had me very curious about him and how his mind works. I didn’t realize how deep things really were for him!Josh is the ultimate anti-hero. Intense, passionate, a bit unhinged but oh so hot! He’s always been different and has never shied away from that fact. He lives a solitary life for the most part because there is no point in having others around him when he doesn’t “feel”. Until he met Ella and she became his new sister, did he think he could have warmth towards another person. But there was someone once. A woman who broke through that barrier, no matter what it was that was holding him back. No matter how hard he truly pushed. Then she disappeared, and he feels like it was the best thing she could do.Then she shows back up, a mess, tired and beaten down.Emily has only truly, deeply loved one person. Josh was it for her from the get-go. She saw through the hardness, the intensity, and the anger. She saw who he was in the depth of his heart. She was the goodness of the world, the light. When he pushes her away, she goes. She moves on with her life, but at what cost? In the end, every bit of light in her is threatened to be snuffed out by the man who is supposed to love her. She fights back and fights hard. She makes her way back to Josh, and what happens next is unexpected and challenging. Their passion and love for each other are off the charts. But there’s something lurking in the shadows, and secrets will continue to fall. The biggest one of all.I absolutely loved their journey so far. I can’t wait to see how things play out in the next one!

Sweet read
The beginning of this book started out good. I felt like it was a bit rushed in the beginning and could have had a longer introduction and maybe skipped less time? It held my interest a bit. To be honest, it as a bit hard for me to keep reading but I pushed through it it was a great thing that I pushed to read the rest. The storyline is great. The two main characters are great. The introduction on the other characters could use more work. I could feel the emotions as I read the book. I love how loving Josh is and how he puts Emily on a pedestal. The way Kylie Kent writes is great. The book ended on a good note for a cliffhanger and I can't wait to read what comes next. This was a sweet read for me and enjoyed it.

Must Read!
I’m not even sure I can do this book justice. I found Kylie Kent randomly while doing a book challenge and I’m so thankful I did. There is just enough mystery to keep me hooked. I can’t wait to find out more about the dearth certificates and the trust fund. I love crazy possessive guys who will do anything for their woman, and that is Josh. I love everything he did for Emily back in high school, and what she did for him too. They compliment each other so well. I’m heartbroken with what she went through while they were apart. I’m excited to read the next book.

This book gave me butterflies
Words I need to find words, except I have none, I don’t know what to do with myself after Kylie Kent has left me on such a cliffhanger.Possible SpoilersLet me start by saying I am absolutely obsessed with that fact that this absolutely stunning book was written by an Australian Author and is set in numerous Australian locations, such a giant tick in my books.Secondly the world and the characters that Kylie Kent has created are absolutely breathtaking, her characters are realistic and they have flaws they have strengths, they have their triumphs but we also get to share in the trials and tribulations.I am in awe of the relationship between Emmy and Josh and I have been on the edge of seat whilst reading this over the last twelve hours. I probably shouldn’t have started reading before I had to go to work, but I kept reading chapters whenever I had a spare moment today, I just couldn’t walk away from the world Kylie Kent has created.I love that throughout this entire story we see not only a woman battling her own inner demons but we see a man struggle with his desire to protect her whilst he also desires to watch her grow and develop into her own independent woman who is with him because she chooses to be not because she needs to be there. The fact that these two main characters accept and welcome each other as they are is such a breath of fresh air, they accept each other with all the craziness and strangeness that happens around them, all whilst finding the time to have some extremely spicy and heartfelt moments.Highly Recommend
