Not Worth it
I watched the assembly video several times to make sure I had the stand out together correctly. It does not hold hoops at all. At best, you still need to use your other hand to prevent the hoop from falling out, so you’ve got one hand to stitch with. At worst, the hoop simply falls out from the “clamps” and you’re left to keep picking it up. Beyond disappointed with this purchase, it absolutely does not serve its purpose. I’ve tried several different sizes / styles of hoops as well.

It works!
Finally happy to get one that works. And good quality. This is my 3rd attempt to buy embroidery stand. Twice previous purchases were from different sellers, cheaper but always something wrong with it and the wood is not smooth. This one is well made, smoother wood, thicker and larger base, (which means sturdier), taller in height adjustment, extra support holding the hoop with the space for the screw part of the bamboo hoop. This part will not work with plastic hoop that has different size screw and thickness of the hoop. But it'll hold the edge of the hoop well enough.Although the part no.5 and 7 is reversed. I was puzzled at first but solved the problem and made it worked. It might have been a mistake but still works. It's definitely the upgraded version, the pic and info included both. I wasn't completely sure which one I'll be receiving. Phew!Came with clear instruction manual and careful packaging. I'm now pleased with my purchase finally and glad that I chose the ungraded version.

Does a great job!
If you’re stitching without a stand you’re not doing your best work. It takes a little adjusting to as your hoop is held in a single spot and you have to move but the back pain isn’t there for me, I’m not having find a random surface to balance myself against in order to balance the hoop awkwardly on my knee and chest. Your French knots will look like you actually knew what it was supposed to look like. Don’t wait until you feel like it might be something to invest in. You’ll frustrate yourself and burn yourself, unless you are extremely stubborn, waiting for the moment you feel like it’s worth it.The new stand appears to have a deeper lamp that allows more of the hoop to be held which is a definite improvement! My hoop has yet to slip out mid stitch. If you have a stitcher friend or loved one show them some love with a stand, they will come back to you and tell thank you!

turned out to not be a good fit
It arrived with a chunk missing out of the wood turned part of the stick, that and some of the edges will need to be sanded to prevent the risk of snagging my embroidery. There was grey stuff around the plywood base that is either wood glue or mud giving it a dirty appearance. There are wood threads for the knob part you adjust height with which can wear down faster. I'm handy so these are more minor things I may be able to fix on my own. The biggest issue is it doesn't seem to really fit for its purpose to hold the hoop so I can work with both hands, be able to rest my elbows on my chair arms to ease arthritis & above all using a holder is supposed help prevent me leaning over and getting a hunched back. I'm petite height 5'1 this type of holder your supposed to sit on it from the side but I couldn't sit comfortably in my chair with arms with the bulk, even at full extension it wasn't easy to position close enough to do what I needed so was still hunching. Putting it on my lap or using it on a table instead put it at a angle that made working on parts of it difficult but can still be used slightly this way just not enough to be worthwhile. I likely will return it, only possible reasons to keep it is to practice wood burning on and display finished pieces which I don't really need.

Worth the money
Love it. Works exactly like I thought it would. The only thing I wish was different was that you could change the height. I’m sure there is something like that out there but this is great for the price!
