The Sleeper
Saul Herzog's Lance Spencer books are so good. There is plenty of action and drama; there is also a lot of educationing information. The characters are all flawed and make mistakes. It is a measure of the author's writing that the reader can empathize, sympathize, and want the best for the characters. There are no heroes, yet it feels like there are.

Better than the last book
No gory, grisly parts to get through like in the last book, which has nauseating parts. Yes, there's some icky stuff, but...The story line explains a lot and I am eager to read the next book in the series.

Thrilling ride
Picked up to fill up 45 mins of waiting time and ended up continuing through the night. Gripping, well constructed with characters brought alive dramatically in a constantly shifting landscape. Really really enjoyable.

Really a page-turner from start to end
In this story betrayal is the norm. Plot is extremely well and all players loose in a way. Only pity in this book is that the role of Lance is less than in the other books, Lance is hardly mentioned in the first halve. The story evolves rapidly and it’s very difficult to lay the book aside for a rest. Very will written Saul, can’t wait to lay my hands on book 5, The Splinter.

More story lines than a 12 string guitar
The author has so many story lines going that if you put the book down, you loose who is who and which line are you following at the moment. It makes for exciting reading and hard to put down. This is his 4th book I have read and it only gets better.
