Priddy Acres Sweet B - Simple Bee Fondant (Lemongrass)

I use this seller regularly because the product is excellent. It arrives on time, usually early, and it is neatly packaged. The size is very convenient, and it is much easier and much cheaper than buying all of the ingredients and making it myself. The bees eagerly consume this product, and it helps bridge the gap from the end of winter until spring when they have plenty of natural food.

I was thinking of making my own candy board for my hives but decided to try these. They looked great when I opened the package. I added them to some of my weaker hives to help support them over winter. They were very easy to use. The parchment paper made it easy to place in the hives. They were easy to separate and smelled great. The bees ate them all up so I ordered more. So much easy than making my own and is a big help to my newer hives that weren’t quite ready for colder weather.

The bees like, but I agree with other reviews that it is too thick. The way around this is break it in half then put it in the microwave for 20 seconds. The use parchment paper on both sides and roll it out with a rolling pin. works great.

What can I say? It may smell like toilet cleaner (lemongrass) but my girls are gobbling it up! I'm gonna need a second box to make it through winter (I just have one colony). I'm using a Vivaldi board this winter. I broke the fondant patty into four chunks and pushed them up around the hole in the Vivaldi board.Just to clarify because I was curious: these fondant patties aren't pliable, meaning you can't squish them and roll them and shape them (which wasn't necessary for my purposes, I was just wondering if they would be).In the photo: put that patty under the screened box of my Vivaldi board 5 days ago and it's already half gone! The little box sitting on top is my thermometer. It's amazing how much warmer the top of the hive is compared to the outside temperatures.

This is a product that I need to use over the winter, and it was delivered inequity fashion, as advertised.

I fed the bees in my hives this lemongrass fondant last year and harvested absolutely the best tasting honey I have ever had! In addition to having the "area" pollens, which help local friends and family with their allergies, the honey had a slight lemony hint to it. I had several people ask me about it even though I did not think it would be noticeable. I just fed them the last of the fondant I had so I'm reordering now since it will be a while before there are sufficient Spring flowers available. Definitely recommend this fondant! Smells great, too! I was tempted to take a bite but decided the bees needed it more. P.S. Very reliable Seller!
