The Periodic Table of Marvel

Fantastic on-the-go reference book
First off, to address the other reviewer who's wondering about the absence of Monica Rambeau, she is indeed included in this book. You'll find her under the Chemical Reactions: Energy Conversion section listed with her superhero name Spectrum (page 106).Now for the book itself, I love it. It's not as exhaustive as the Marvel Encyclopedia, obviously that book is a lot larger and an actual "encyclopedia," but this book is the closest to a pocket version of a Marvel encyclopedia that we have at the moment.A few reasons I love it:- For a hardcover book it is a small size. It's not quite pocket-fit but still smaller than other DK Marvel books. You can easily carry it around in your hand or if you have a large coat pocket it may fit in there too.- Lists a great variety of characters in the Marvel universe all the way from top tier to mid tier plus some low tier. Everyone major from the MCU is here too, even upcoming characters which we haven't seen adapted on the big screen yet.- The descriptions are just enough to understand the characters themselves and their powers. The periodic table format is interesting too. Make sure you read the introduction so you understand how to read the properties part of the character. I was confused at first with what "Vo" meant but then later reading the introduction I understood it meant that character is volatile.- A nice touch is they note the comic issue in which the character first appeared. You want to get some geek cred amongst your friends? Just have a quick look at that on the character in question. Just FYI though, some of the characters at the end of each section don't have this available for reference.- Since it's easy to carry around, it makes a great on-the-go reference text when either you or your friends want to get some fast detail on a Marvel character. Beats reading an online wiki about them that goes on for pages and pages.TLDR: Highly recommend this to both Marvel newbies and long time fans looking for a great portable reference book.

An Amazing opening starter for new fans of Marvel comics, but does it contain EVERY CHARACTER ?
I enjoy this book and all of the information it has given. If you are a fans of Marvel comics and its characters, then you would enjoy this book. Be forewarn though, that there are certain characters that are not involved in this book even though they should be included. It takes a good second or third look through this book to find the missing characters that should be involved in this book overall. For anyone who is new to Marvel and wishes to learn about the many characters involved or is a great fan of Marvel, then this book is for you.

KNOW YOUR MARVEL
A very interesting approach and analysis of the Marvel Universe and its heroes. Engaging and interesting profiles, and it makes for excellent references. Beautifully illustrated and covers many of the more popular characters in the Marvel pantheon of heroics and villainy.

meah
Thought is a peroid table about metals in marvel universe, it was a misbuy and when it arrived it was that small so i should check out the formats first before i would have bought it.. classification was a bit meh because there should be more explaination (sorry for my english) for some stuff in that lttle book, it should be better to published at a larger format and a lot thicker

Informative
Very informative and handy book. Details all the information well and is easy to follow. It is interesting to see all the other characters throughout the MCU that aren't in the movies but comics (handy if you haven't read them). Would defo recommend to a Marvel fan.

Comprehensive and beautifully presented guide to the Marvel universe
This is a fantastic, 192 page book introducing the full universe of Marvel characters, cleverly organised like a periodic table, with characters bunched by their common properties, such as radioactivity and chemical reactions. The format, a compact hardback book slightly larger than an A5 notebook, works very well - the book is not meant to be read start to finish, but rather it is for dipping in and out, and looking a particular character of interest.Up to four characters are introduced on each page, with more famous characters given a one or even two page spread. Each character is illustrated, and given an information box (the one that looks like a periodic table entry) including their numerical order of appearance in the Marvel Comics Universe when empowered, within their power type. For example, Hulk is number one in the gamma radioactivity category.I found the summaries easy to read and full of detail which even seasoned Marvel fans which will appreciate - the one and two page spreads are especially good.Overall this book is a very good idea, well executed, and would make a great coffee table gift for the Marvel enthusiast in your life.
