Honey-Can-Do HMP-01453 Sturdy Resin Hamper with Rope Handles, Natural, 1-Bin, Folding Single Hamper , Beige

I bought 3 of these hampers (for different colors) and have been using them for over a year now. I love them! They are sturdy and durable, at least so far. I like how the handles are designed and attached, as that's usually a weak point for hampers. They are pieces of rope with a knot on each end (on the inside), so they can't come out of the holes, and the holes are lined with metal rings so they won't fray or stretch. One of the knots was loose and came undone once, and I dropped the hamper, but I tightened the knot and put a few stitches in it (for the rest of the hampers too) just in case, so this wouldn't happen again. I think if the knots are tightened preventatively, they won't come undone, but I wanted to be safe. They have held well.I also like that the hamper looks good and stands on its own without collapsing when it's empty. The walls are very rigid. You can also fold it when not in use, which is a nice option, though I haven't needed it. It holds more than enough for one load in a regular size washer/dryer. I have to lug these up and down two flights of stairs, and after a year, they show absolutely no sign of wear. All in all, I am very happy with this purchase, and would definitely recommend the product.UPDATE: It's been 5 years now and we have a whole bunch of these hampers, for all family members and all laundry colors. We use them all the time and even after all these years, they're still holding up great! Even after being manhandled by the kids. Best hampers ever!

I was leery about ordering this hamper because of some of the reviews. Unfortunately, my choices were *very* limited because of space issues, so this one had to do. I'm glad I ordered it. While it is kind of flimsy, it works in my laundry room. This definitely isn't a portable hamper, so if that's what you need then look for something else.The hamper comes collapsed in a large skinny box and you have to just unfold/expand it and attach the top. Until you do attach the top, the hamper will be very unstable, to the point where you may ask yourself why you bought it. Lol. Once in place, though, it gives the whole thing some stability. The velcro to attach the top goes all the way across the backside of the hamper. In front there are 2 patches of velcro to keep it closed. I don't ever secure the front; I just let the lid drop down. It's used so much that I don't see a need to velcro it closed every time I get into it. But the option is there to make it look a bit neater.The sides and the separator are just heavy cardboard covered in fabric, so it's not the most sturdy thing in the world. I've found that when the hamper is full and someone puts more in and shoves the clothes down so the lid will close, the sides start bulging out. Big no-no in my book, as it looks like this will weaken the hamper. The other people in my house are now instructed to start setting clothes on top of the hamper when it's full, so that I will know laundry needs done and so that the hamper won't break. Be careful not to put too much weight on the top if it's empty, as it could start to cave in unless there's a full hamper. Each side holds almost 2 loads of regular laundry, depending on the size of your machine.Other than the cheapness of the sides, the bottom is also a bit of an issue. Not for me so much, because I won't ever move it with clothes in it, but it could be an issue for someone else. I uploaded a picture of the inside bottom of the hamper. The only covering is just some thin fabric and it's not a solid bottom. This is because of the collapsible feature. There is a pretty big gap in the fabric, so that you can see the floor under the hamper. If the hamper is never moved, this shouldn't be a problem. Don't plan on being able to move this thing around once it's loaded.All in all, I'm quite happy with my purchase. It looks SO much better in my laundry room than my ten-year-old hamper, which was one of those PVC frames with a couple mesh bags hanging off of it. That one was so unsightly, and the frame never stayed together. Eventually, the mesh bags started falling off the frame, too. I can't believe I waited so long to find a replacement. This hamper is just right for my needs and it looks decent. Just don't let it get too full or the sides will bulge out and possibly weaken the structure. Also, don't put wet clothes in the hamper, as it will start to stink in there after a couple days.The only problem I have with the hamper, and many other products, is that it's made in China. I don't have anything against buying imported items when they come from a country that isn't known for its bad labor practices. It would be nice to find a decent affordable hamper that was made in our country to support our people and economy. That being said, I do appreciate this hamper and hope that nobody had to work in crappy conditions to make it.

I was very hesitant to purchase this hamper over some other more expensive models. We were looking for a hamper to keep his/hers clothes separate. The reviews are very mixed and my biggest hang up was not being able to pick it up due to the bottom having a slit in it versus a similar model that cost more has a zipper to seal the bottom. I'm guessing the other reviewers didn't flip it over to look at the bottom as there is a zipper that closes the bottom and makes this much more manageable.As stated in other reviews, it is just heavy duty cardboard for the internal structure. The material seems to add some durability and the lid helps quite a bit to the structural integrity of the hamper regardless if it is open or closed.Would I pick it up and carry the laundry down the stairs to our washer? No, I feel it's a little too weak for that and it's size would make that more of a hassle that it would be worth. The counter to that is the size is fantastic! It's quite large without having an overbearing look in our closet.Highly recommend this for anyone looking for a double hamper!

My first time ever to write review on Amazon.Received this today, a little over a week of shipping since my purchase. I was so excited to open it, but guess what I found.. Disappointment! Crooked and flimpsy, felt like all over the place when I tried to put the two piece together (the body and the lid).But it's ok I thought, you get what you pay for right? Although it's original price was $49 (it should be at least close to a quality of $49 though) was on sale and I paid $21.77. But it's ok, I'm gonna just move on, as long as the product serve it's purpose nicely yet fit my budget.BUT.. When I found out that the zipper underneath is broken.. That's it, I'm writing! I've added a photo to this review.Well, it's not actually a broken zipper, but it was not properly sewn in and have a couple of holes, therefore there is no way to zip the whole thing through. I think I can push zip it if I want to, but it will just make bigger holes from the poorly sewn in zipper, and it will just ruin a poorly made hamper to an unusable hamper.Overall.. The whole thing is obvious cheap made!
