Great author and great book
I never imagined we can teach kids these important life lessons so easily. Mary always does very good job in writing stories which has solid content. Really happy to have this story read to my kid.

Great addition to the series
Love this new addition to the cool Ninja Life Hacks series! Gritty Ninja used to stop trying at activities he thought he would fail at, until he was introduced to the 4 Cs... A great way to help kids learn how to develop their own grit and determination. They won’t always win first place, but they will realise that the worst that can happen is usually survivable - leaving them “Carefree” and able to do their best.

Never. Give. Up.
My three year old and I are in love with this series. When we flipped to the back cover of Perfect Ninja, and I asked him which we should get next, he homed right in on Gritty Ninja.Sadly, it wasn't published yet and I told him we would have to wait for the author to write it.So I was super excited when, just days later (today), I received an email offering a free download of the e-book!Gritty Ninja does not disappoint, and is just the message of grit--what we called "stick-to-it-tiv-ity" when I was a kid--that I've been working to instill in my curious little explorer.Ms. Nhin's "four C's" create an easy-to-understand tool to help kids face down the anxieties and frustrations that go with doing hard things and risking failure.I suspect that at not quite four years old, my son is at the younger end of the age range for this series. Along with thoughtfully guiding kids through challenging life topics, the author doesn't shy away from rich vocabulary, which I consider an added bonus of these books.I can't wait to read the hard copy with my son when it arrives!

Such a Cute and Helpful Series
This is our 4th Ninja book in this series and my son (7) loves them. They're quick and the messages are fairly simple concepts and they are EXCELLENT ways to help my son deal with his anxiety, negative self talk, unrealistic expectations, emotional management - and he's learning how to access and talk about his feelings. They're very short and it says you get the kindle when you order the paperback (but I have no idea how to access this option). They give ideas on how to work on your feels and alternatives. We are big fans and my son keeps asking when the next one is coming. :-)

A Favorite Ninja!
Of al Mary Nhin's Ninja Books (and they're all fabulous), "Gritty Ninja: A children's Book About Dealing with Frustration and Developing Perseverance" is a favorite!Gritty Ninja, was not always gritty. In the past, Gritty Ninja, who was pretty average and was not exceptionally talented, would let frustration defeat him. Gritty Ninja heeds the advice of his friend, who explains that what separates successful Ninjas from those who fail, is perseverance. Gritty Ninja promptly changes his attitude. He keeps trying no matter what, he does not give up, and inevitably, he achieves his goals!A great lesson that is relevant and applicable to kids and adults!
