A universe of absurd whimsy
8 fantastically absurd sounds and a universe of whimsical tone-smashing to explore. If you're a major tweaker who loves the comical more than the practical, this pedal is sure to delight. Some of the effects are, well, less practical than others, but the real gem here is the bit smasher setting which, like most settings on the pedal, totally alters how all the knobs work. There's an oscillatory function on the Control 2 knob that lets the user dial in the overtone created by bit smashery. This lets you dial it into the octave of the chord you want to focus on, say an E. Very fun interactions with other degrees of the scale in this case. The infinite reverb is quite fun as well - once I fed the infinite reverb a low E, shut my amp off, left it overnight, came back in the morning, turned the amp back on, and the same low E droned triumphantly. No decay or decomposition.Almost all of the effects on this pedal behave in completely unexpected ways. You will find yourself spending hours exploring whacked out tones that defy simple classification. I'm not sure how useful many of these will be, but they are guaranteed to entertain you.

You'll need the manual
It's impossible to operate this without constantly looking at the cheap A4-sized reference pages. It's simply a pain to use.

A Must for Fans of 80's Video Games and Experimental Rock
If you're a fan of progressive rock, ambient music, or anything from the 80's (especially horror movie synthesizer scores and video game music), then this is the pedal for you. I've been writing a few instrumental pieces lately, and this pedal (especially when paired up with a good delay pedal) has added a lot to the overall sound of each song. After playing around with the BitQuest, my 6-string guitar sounded more and like a keyboard synthesizer, and in the best way possible. I've yet to try it out with my 12-string guitar, but I wouldn't be surprised if that also sounded cool.In other words, if anyone reading this intends to write & record a "Castlevania" inspired rock opera, complete with 8-bit sound effects, then this pedal would be pretty useful.

A fun over the top pedal
This is a real interesting pedal. It does a lot but I really like the fuzz emulation. It's easy to go overboard and over the top with a few of the programs. It has traditional digital reverb programs but the overdrive and fuzz are what I really like. The only drawback is that it doesn't have program memories.

Fun noise maker. Great addition to an experimental pedal board.

Great distortion/experimental pedal.
I was looking for a unique pedal that could spark inspiration. I was drawn to the Bitquest because of the bit crusher, filters, ring mod, and reverb. After playing with the 8 different settings in both clean and dirty I was really impressed with the distortion sounds on the fuzz setting, you can get some very unique tones with the two filter settings on fuzz. The filters werent as good in clean mode but can still get good sounds. The ring mod and pitch settings can produce a lot of unique tones. The best settings on clean are bit crush, flange, and reverb. The bit crush can take a while to dial in but its a great effect. The flange is very versatile and the reverb is just excellent can go from spacey to haunting. If your looking for a pedal with great sounds and endless tweaking potential then try the Bitquest.
