Very Happy
I am very happy with this set of gouache paint. I have never used gouache before and this set has opened up a whole new world when it comes to painting. They are opaque out of the tube but you can make them as translucent as you want just by adding water.

Excellent Paints... Excellent Price
I have been painting using various mediums for many years (oils, watercolors, acrylics), and I thought that I would try my hand with gouache-style paints. As you probably know, gouache paints are more opaque than regular watercolors. When I received the package, all the tubes were intact; not a bad one in the lot. The paints are indeed thick, and the colors vibrant… Just as advertised. So far, so good.My watercolor papers of choice are Strathmore and Arches block paper, both 140 pound - 300 GM2, cold press.I began by adding a few colors to my palette, dipping a brush into pure color, and pulling it across the paper. The brush glided across the paper, and the result was a completely opaque line of color. I then dipped the brush into water and ran more lines; dipping the brush into the water for each subsequent line. By the sixth line, the paint was becoming transparent, similar to a standard watercolor. What this means to me is that I can achieve exactly the level of opaque/transparency I desire simply by controlling the amount of water added to the paint.Note: If you thin down the paints you might want to mix in a drop or two of Gum Arabic. This will bind the watery color to the paper, so the pigment will not wipe away after the water has evaporated. This is only necessary if you are mixing a considerable quantity of water with the gouache paints.I then tried mixing different paints to create additional colors. This is a good test of the quality of the paints. If they are not pure colors, when you mix them, you can get some off colors. All, my mixed colors came out exactly as planned…I have tried a few paintings using various thicknesses of the gouache paints with excellent results.Bottom Line: In my opinion, these are excellent paints that any artist would enjoy. And you will not break the bank when you purchase them.Happy Painting…

Excellent low-cost investment
I picked up this gouache set in May 2017 as an inexpensive way to try out a new medium (now Aug. 2018). I have experience with watercolor and acrylic, and wanted to learn gouache, assuming it was basically the same (silly me). When trying to make washes like watercolors, I struggled, and wasn't thrilled with the results. When trying to blend them like acrylics, I struggled, and wasn't thrilled with the results. I took a step back from the medium for a while. This summer--over a year later since the original purchase--I started playing around with the paints again, and my earlier struggles were definitely user error, not the fault of the paints. Now that I'm using the gouache like gouache--not like watercolor or acrylic--I'm loving it. Crazy, I know. I'd definitely recommend this set to anyone wanting to learn how to use gouache on a budget (or to anyone wanting to just shake up their palette with a new brand). Colors mix well and have a nice range of cool and warm mixing options. Dries a nice flat matte, as gouache should. Paints dry quickly, and layering on top of dry layers is easy, but you can still lift and blend top layers with layers underneath as you wish. Hope the photos help.tl;dr: inexpensive, effective paint. Great for learning the medium. Would recommend!

Get to learn color theory, and always have to practice black and white sketches in gouache to understand values.
- Do our paints fit the description and appearance in the listing?Yes they do!- How are the quality and functionality; where and how did you use them?I can’t quite comment on the quality of gouache, but its flexibility is similar to that of watercolor and graffiti paint markers with using a small brush. I used these in my studio and had myself working either light to dark(then repeating that rhythm) along with going from warm to cool(then vice-versa). Placing mid tone values for your character’s shadows help with painting figures before you lay down flat tones.- Anything else you like about them and think would benefit other potential customers. If you are looking to try a paint medium with an opaque finish tagging along the fact that you can rework the paint? This is for you. If you are new to painting, I’d start with Gouache before another wet paint such as acrylics, watercolor and oil paint due to its low maintenance and low risk factor into laying down colors or values. Also, if you’d like to use colored pencils, charcoal, watercolor, markers and lead pencils, they are collaborative with the gouache paint medium.

Good product at very competitive price
I have been using watercolour and first time with Gouache. It took me some time to adjust the water level for the right opacity. I put the tube paint into half pan and let it dry overnight. When apply, only wet the brush with very little water (I just drop the tip) then wet the paint and direct apply onto the medium. With more water, it becomes like watercolour but matt finish. I put on plastic bottles making Christmas diy moisturiser gift and it comes out well. Fully opaque. This product is very pigmented, drying fast, need wash quick for unwanted colouring, otherwise stains.

Easy to apply on canvas
The colors it came with were bright and bold—plenty of paint in such small tubes. I love the way the paint dried quickly and evenly.

Great quality paints for a great low price
These paints are great! I’m currently using them for a painting. They have a great variety of colors, they’re very opaque, great quality for such a low price and have a thick viscosity. These paints have been holding their own when compared to my Winsor and Newton gouache paints. A little bit of paint goes a long way. Great for beginners, people getting back into painting or people who want to experiment with new mediums. I’ve been using them on watercolor paper and it’s coming out fine. Love the quality of these paints, definitely will be buying again once these are used up.

Very creamy and bright
I was using another brand that was very thick and difficult to squeeze out of the tube. These paints by Myartscape are just the opposite,
