Works as expected and very well

Everything is assembled and ready to be installed. Directions are easy to read from booklet or on line via computer.Testing the system is very straight forward and simple to do. Key pad is easy to read instructions and operate, add or remove sensors. The base can operate up to 41 sensors which is great! Monitoring costs are reasonable to meet one's needs. I have a 11 piece set, and added 3 other devices which meets my personal needs and would recommend SimpliSafe Home Security System. You can build and reconfigure your system any way you prefer just by simply adding or eliminating a device. I love it!

Cons: Needs to louder. Problem with sensors not registering open/close window or door. Pros: Convenient and easy to set up. Cheaper than an alarm company. Some sense of security.

We purchased the Defender system directly from Simplisafe and added numerous motion, entry, glass break, CO and smoke sensors for a total alarm system cost of $960 (after a $200 discount). It's a good system and the web based interface for managing it is excellent. Customer service, however, is slow to respond to emails (2 days) and nearly impossible to reach by telephone. They do return voice mail messages in 1 to 2 days. Also, we had to move the base station around to three different locations inside the house to find a location where it would stay connected wirelessly to the monitoring service. Now that we have it set up and understand how to use it, I believe it's going to be a winner.
