Didn’t open as expected but eventually worked.

I bought these capsules this past Christmas when I was looking for gifts that were small enough for my toddler (he was 17 months old in December) to fit in his advent calendar, but not tiny little toys that he could either choke on or would end up getting stepped on by adults in our living room. I had put a poll on my Instagram of what I should get for him because I was really struggling to fill up 24 squares of gifts for a child this young (if I had my way, it literally would just have been berries or something but we have this beautiful wooden advent calendar that unfortunately fits almost nothing). Someone suggested these so I went for it as it seemed an easy and inexpensive way to fill the thing up. I cut up the package and split them up into groups of two throughout the calendar (what, did you think I was able to come up with TWENTY FOUR unique gifts for each day of December?!). He obviously didn't get what they were at first, but we used them at bathtime. While he loved the sponges once they inflated, the only criticism I have of this product is that the capsules take an awfully long time to open when they are submerged in water. Maybe it's not that long if you have older kids that you can use these to teach them the virtue of patience, but for a toddler who barely understands the ways of the world, he just kept picking them out of the tub, therefore lengthening the process in which they opened up. Once they reached their full metamorphosis, he did enjoying play with them in the tub, so for the value of this item, I'm going to say it's a win.

I remember having these as a kid 25+ years ago. However, in my mind I remember them "transforming" a bit more quickly and smoothly. These take quite awhile and need to be poked quite a bit to get the pill casing to come off. My 3 year old is delighted anyhow!

I bought these to put in the Advent calendar I made for my kids. It was a fun surprise. I had never tried these before so I thought it might not work since they just floated to the surface. We put them in water before the kids went to school and by the time they came home, they were done.

Bought this for my son's birthday and he loved watching the capsules becomes animals. Very easy to do and clean up when done. Will buy again for use in future activities for small kids that come over to play. Quality product that does what it is designed to do.

Used as a stocking stuffer for a six year old. Her mind was blown like ours were in the 90s. It did exactly what I wanted with it.

Not sure if the grandkids used them yet but thought they were cool. Were stocking stuffer.
