Pretty cool little doohickey! Maybe a lil expensive
I had a good time assembling this kit, it took me probably about two hours. I've seen reviews saying that it's difficult, or that the instructions are unclear; that's not my experience. The instructions are actually pretty good for one of these Chinese DIY kits, with the expected broken English complicating them a bit but big, clear color photos of most steps to help out. There are a couple of points that are a little touchy but that's par for the course on these electronics kits, and all the more difficult stuff (ie the SMD parts) is pre-installed. I could see how it could be difficult if it's your first kit, in which case I would recommend starting with something a bit simpler and confined to a single board. The finished product is handsome looking but not that big (about eight inches tall), but not much smaller than I had expected. It produces a tiny arc at the tip that supposedly dances to music, but if it does I can't tell. I like the two attachments it came with, one 'iron windmill' that spins in a circle and one 'wreath', a thin wire that makes a more complex design as it whips around. So far the only lights I've managed to get to light up are the two little gas bulbs that it came with. The incandescent bulb it shipped with, plus a few LEDs I had floating around failed to light up. I haven't played with that too much yet though.Since it doesn't totally do what it advertises, I would say the kit is overpriced. But as a fun project to put together, I enjoyed it quite a bit.

Perfect for the nerd who likes a really good challenge - YMMV
This is a perfect kit for anyone who loves to assemble kits using deductive reasoning as opposed to reading the instructions. In all honesty, the instructions are more a series of pictures with hints. Please note: the kit CAN be assembled and look exactly like the pictures show and STILL not work. Hint: look up the data sheets for the part numbers of the transistors packaged with the kit and compare that against the schematic included with the kit. The seller is very responsive and should be able to help out - although it might take a few days ;) I also had the power supply die after a few minutes of operation - again the seller was very responsive and sent a new one promptly. The music playing from the energized coil is a real head scratcher...

Didn’t work. What a let down
Followed instructions, had to read and read the steps, which doesn’t seem to make sense. Of course if I was into electrical gadgets it might make a difference. What’s an Electric wind iron? Or how do you Tin wire? What does it even mean? If your not good at electric gadgets, it just might be very difficult to assemble.

Smaller than I thought it would be
It’s a lot smaller than I thought it would be.The instructions are LAME!

Works as described
Put this together in a few hours. Instructions can be a little sketchy. Soldering skills are a must! I must have put the SMD LED's in backwards, they don't light up.

Too many little pieces for me to work with
I like the way it said it worked but there's no day on the way I can put it together I like to have one if they made one all put together

Nifty little "Arc speaker"
This project is an intermediate level electronics assembly. The instructions are adequate for those with previous experience doing this kind of thing. It has a schematic diagram & reference photos of how to orient the bipolar transistor & mosfet. Not recommended for beginners unless accompanied by someone experienced in electronics repair. BTW it uses a 2sc2078 for an oscillator for the coil & the mosfet modulates the amplitude of the coil input just like an AM transmitter. That same transistor is usef in HF transceiver final stage.

Tragic indeed
Might be easy if you know what you’re doing, It didn’t come with any clear instructions and I couldn’t get it to work. Along with that the company takes weeks to get a response. I tried
