Don't know why one would design a carpet cleaner you can't open up and clean but this tool helped solve the problem.

I recently bought a Hoover Smartwash. Its a great carpet cleaner but it does not come with any cleaning tools. Hoover recommends you wash the nozzle to clean it but water pressure alone does not get all the gunk out. This works perfect to clean both the nozzle and the brushes.

I ordered this tool for Bissell cleaners hoping it would fit in the nozzle of my old Hoover steam cleaning machine. I wasn’t able to find the Hoover cleaning tool on Amazon, and the few retailers who did have it offered ten day shipping at best. So I took a gamble that this would do the trick.It worked! My only issue is that it could be 3-4 inches longer to give more reach to clean the very back of the nozzle. This tool still gets back there, there’s just less left outside the nozzle to grab on than what the Hoover tool had.Overall, this does what I needed it to do. It gets the nasty clumps of dog fur dislodged from the inside of the nozzle so that the cleaner can suction effectively.

Just what I needed! I was given a used carpet cleaner without this tool and it was to miserable trying to clear out the narrow nozzle with bendable wires, long pieces of cardboard, high water pressure and whatever else I could think of. This tool makes all the difference!
