Very beautiful book with detailed explanation and ideas

Upon second consideration this book is quite wonderful. (even without photos :). The directions are clear and concise. Hardanger is not easy and this tome makes it about as accessible as you can hope to get.

Beautiful book, and appears to be exactly what I was looking for in helping me learn this needle art.

I bought this in the light of the enthusiastic reviews already posted and was not disappointed. The instructions are very clear and conduct one painlessly from beginner level to relatively advanced, with an attractive set of projects and sufficient information to adapt them to one's own taste and requirements. My only comment is that the charts have been done as for cross-stitch, with a line for every thread of the fabric (which is of course admirably clear), without making any reference to the widespread convention for Hardanger charting of using one open square for each two threads. Stanton's method does make it harder to count the design off in fours! Overall, however, still a really clear, useful volume.

Sehr einfach erklärt. Sehr übersichtlich. Beschreibt mehr als man je brauchen wird! Ich würde das Buch für Anfänger und noch Fortgeschrittener empfehlen.
