Q: Is there a gasket? Or it doesn't need any?

There is a gasket but only a thin one so I use sealant, gorilla glue, to seal the tap to my water butt. Works a treat.

Q: What size hole do you need in the barrel?

You will need to drill a 25mm hole. You can buy the flat type drill bits used for wood quite cheaply.

Q: What's the water flow like on this tap. I bought a b&q water butt and the flow is like a fast dribble and totally unusable with a hose pipe

Slow but adequate. The water pressure is low from a butt anyway as even when full the water is only a metre or so off the ground.

Q: Hi does the washer go on the inside or outside of the water butt ?

The washer should go on the inside, unless the retaining nut has a large flat surface like a washer then it should not matter.
