must have for the garage mechanic!!
Anyone who works on their own car should always have a couple books on the specs. this book has lots of good information you will need to rebuild your small block ford. if you're relatively new to wrenching on your own ride you better grab this one and i sugest a couple more depending on the job ( different books have different pictures) to help explain things and get your ride back on the road. definitely a great buy.

Book with History
It is great when you have a book that gives you a glance at historical information. This book covers many years with useful information. The author has a good writing style that is easy to read and interpret. This is NOT a technical book with Torque specs but it is a great source of information on Ford Small blocks in general. This does going into detailed explaination of how parts function and affect the overall performance of an engine. This explains the breakdown process and the buildup process.I highly recommend this book for anybody that is learning how to build engines and want a historical perspective.

Don’t rebuild a SBF without this book!
This is a very comprehensive book on rebuilding a SBF. Although it was written 40 years ago, it has been instrumental for the rebuild of my fox body 302. This is not only a manual, but a great story, which adds character and joy to the rebuild process.

Great book Tom Monroe
I just finished building a 351 Windsor and this book was a great resource. Wish I had it a couple of months ago when I rebuilt a 302 V-8. The chapter on parts ID and interchangeability will be invaluable to us since we build 289, 302 and 351 V-8 for installation in early model Mustangs. Every engine manufacturer had their quirks and own unique ways of designing/building engines so it was nice to have a reference book. I plan on rebuilding the distributor next and I'm glad Tom has a chapter devoted to that.

Only for Windsor not Cleveland engines
Great book, but misleading cover, as I have a 351GT Cleveland and this book only covers Windsor engines! Still worth buying as it’s full of great information, but if you have the same engine as me you'll want this book instead Rebuild Ford V-8 HP36 (Hpbooks)Rebuild Ford V-8 HP36 (Hpbooks)

Does not cover every engine
In general, this is a great book, but be advised it does not cover the Ford 351 Cleveland engine. There are books that do by the same author.
