This book is unlike any other out there in the realm of sacred geometry. Rather than going into complicated detail on the “math” side of things, Ana has created a simplified approach to drawing the shapes and gives guidance on integrating these into your own art process. She’s taken something that COULD be really confusing, and made it easy to follow and find success with. I wouldn’t say it’s for total beginner artists, as it’s helpful to already be familiar with paints or pencils (or whatever medium you like) - but I imagine a beginner could follow along if they were really interested in it. I don’t consider myself advanced at all, but I have been painting for 3-ish years and found this book really enlightening and interesting. The topic of sacred geometry itself is incredibly fascinating, and this book has provided a wonderful jumping off point into this world. As an added bonus, Ana herself is a fabulous artist with beautiful examples throughout the book. I’ve also taken various online classes and a live virtual class with her on this topic, and it’s great to see that as a teacher (live) she’s so engaged and passionate about the topic. Highly recommend this one!

If you are an artist looking to get into Sacred Geometry, this is the best place to begin, and it will also deepen your journey as you continue. There is SO MUCH in this book, I see something that inspires me every time I open it. I felt able to get started with confidence, to find my own voice in sacred geometry, and I knew ways to get more into my favorite areas, too. All of Ana's work is so helpful and inspiring, and I am obsessed with this book. I have gained a whole bookshelf of sacred geometry books, and this is the one I keep turning to the most.

That said, I try to be honest and open in all my reviews.(Please see the enclosed pictures and video.)This book from Quarry books straddles the worlds of fine art and mathematics. The author, Ana Calderon, has had experience in both camps as her undergraduate degree was in technology, and her masters was in the arts.The book shows how to create beautiful patterns using mathematical techniques and then to embellish those mathematical constructs into works of art. The specific application in this book is creating patterns that have traditionally been associated with sacred topics.The book follows a logical sequence starting with describing the tools and supplies you will need and then starting with the very basic shapes, circles and lines.Each chapter is richly illustrated in vibrant, four color prints. The book itself is sturdy and perfect bound so that you can fold the pages to reference a particular page while in the midst of painting.The application chapters (there are five of them) start with a specific sacred shape (seed of life, flower of life, metatron's cube, and the torus) and shows the various other symbols that can be extrapolated from the base form.Interspersed with the newly derived, mathematical patterns are very practical "drawing techniques" sections.Overall, I am very impressed with this book, and its clear message, math and art are not enemies, but twins that work best together.I really liked this book, and I highly recommend it.

I have the other books of Ana Victoria Calderon, as allways the book had very well explained the step by step drawings and paintings. Very usefull to learn not only water colors but learn about sacred geometry as well.

I was expecting something much simpler. This book is not just a drawing. The author includes many ideas for shading or adding color to the designs. The illustrations are clear, beautiful, and inspiring. And the book is printed on high-quality paper. Just lovely! Really gorgeous!

I got hooked in geometry whilst teacher my daughter and saw this amazing book. If you love painting and drawing symmetrical patterns and love to look into the meaning of them then this is for you!
