Earlier this year I had heard rumors that Michael was releasing a brand new album. I wouldn't say that I'm disappointed in his choice to release another worship album, but he's reached a point in his career where anything new he comes out with when writing songs is going to feel nostalgic in some form or another. The tone of the whole live concert feels very legendary, almost the way the tone of his Christmas albums have felt since Christmastime was released.What I'd like to see and hear are some newer renditions of his older worship songs, pre-dating 1990, like a live version of The Throne from Eye 2 i and Great Is The Lord because the 80s had an extensive collection of great worship songs that the younger generations of MWS fans have never heard, (specifically Maranatha). This album almost sounds like he owns some of the songs he didn't even write, which can be worrisome if your kids are asking, "Who wrote Open The Eyes Of My Heart, or Awesome God" It's hilarious to me because almost every believer you ask knows the chorus for Awesome God, but they can't name the guy who wrote it. Even today, some solid Christian believers have no clue who Michael W. Smith is because they're being raised by worship artists who aren't writing worship songs with lasting stamina.I can see why some people might not think this album is worth their time, but Michael clearly proves the point that above all else, we must keep worshipping God for who He is and what He's done for us.

Saw the concert on TBN, had the original worship album, the way MWS re-imagined this album is absolutely perfect. Very God honoring!

A great combination of music from M.W.S. and having the orchestra and singers, with a live audience adds depth to his music.
