My husband is an electrician and has always worked in construction. He's always carried a 2.8 lb. hammer. He didn't want to get rid of his old one because he liked the weight, but the grip was wearing thin and exposing some metal, so it no longer met regulations. This specific weight is not sold in stores. When he asked, he was always told they didn't make them anymore.This came in today, and he is very pleased. At first, he thought it weighed less than his old one, but we actually weighed them. Both were 2.8. (He just maintains a better grip on this one and it's easier to use. There lies the confusion.) This is exactly what we needed.

When driving long pole barn nails, this is the hammer you need. I have been doing allot of landscape timber work and this hammer puts the ring nails through them with ease once you get used to it.

I do Concrete so I use a hammer alot this hammer is the best one I owned buying the second one just to keep in stock.great for building or tearing down also works good driveing steaks or wood in hard ground.

I have owned a Estwing 30oz hammer for over 14 years, same hammer. Today it got mangled by a bobcat track. I'm replacing it with another. Won't own anything else. It's a big boy hammer though. You'll feel it after swinging it all day, 30oz is extremely heavy, not for picture hanging!
