I own this book and it's not bad, but it's definitely not worth $735!!!! I wouldn't pay more than thirty bucks for it at most. Sadly, books like this are going to be needed soon I fear.

Excellent book!As other reviewers have stated, this book does not deal with the manufacture of workshop guns- it mainly deals with how to straighten bent barrels, fix broken stocks, make-dos for odd ammunition calibers, and other odd repairs for typically antique bolt action or single shot shotguns. The author relates a lot of information from his time spent in the bush in Africa and other parts of the third world. As a gun tinkerer myself for the past 25 years, I learned a few new things on how to deal with restoring old rifles, and dealing with some odd fire arms fixes as well. A good reference book to have in your library, and an easy read over 2-3 evenings. Well worth the money.

The work is pretty good. If you have some room in your shelf for a good background work, that is a little dated this would be the one I would get. Don't get me wrong, guns are guns and dated is not necessarily bad, but just a forewarning to any buyer who expects to have something showing recent guns.In addition, given the genre and nature, if apocalypse happens, dated is fine, because you won't be dealing with the latest and greatest! :)

My husband is really enjoying this book! He was having a difficult time finding items he needed to reload during this nationwide gun control push, this book helped him find ways to make what he needs and confirmed ideas that he had but hadn't heard of people doing regularly. After viewing a "how-to" video on Youtube.com his curiosity about a method was triggered and this book discussed that method too, so it confirmed his idea! Highly recommended!

A very small book, but it has some very good ideas. Some of these ideas as too dangerous for me to try unless it truly was a life or death emergency. If one were truly in that situation, these ideas could be worth their weight in gold.

This is a book designed for people who want their gun fixed and right now. I'm putting in memory all that I can for when I need to fix my gun.

With so much buzz about desperate times ahead along with what we're already dealing with, I felt this was a great choice for someone close to me that happens to be interested in gunsmithing. It turned out that they were, indeed, very pleased with the book. It was an excellent addition to books in their collection.
