I have owned a lot of sharpeners. This is the best.
I have every kind of sub 100 $ shapener you can buy. Lanky, DMT, Worksharp precision adjust, Worksharp belt sharpener and freehand stones. This is worth the little extra because it is stable and precise. Work sharp precision adjust is flimsy and flexes with little pressure, Lansky is good but not as easy to clamp the blade and the guide rods are a bit weak causing the stone to get out of alignment and you have to end them straight sometimes. Dmt aligner pro is good but I have had a few just break. This KME is solid and precise. Easy to clamp and easy to find the right angle. The diamond stones are heavy and well build. The stone holder is solid. Flipping the clamp to the other side DOES maintain the same angle. I have had a generic brand that was two different angles depending on the side you flipped the clamp to. Don't bother with any of the others I mentioned just get this one and you will be happy.

One of the best
I've tried many other sharpening systems and this is my favorite without spending $400+ on a knife sharpener. The clamp works great and the stones are top notch. I have a non clamp system also and this beats it hands down. It's easy to use, the stones cut fast and the angle is accurate. What more can I ask for in this price range. I highly recommend this system and KME customer support is the best if you happen to have any problem.

Love it! Easy mirror finish (with accessories)
Absolutely love this system! Itโs easy to use and comes with everything you need to get an even, razor sharp edge on your knives. I decided to pick up some glass blanks for honing films and a wooden base to go along with it which definitely improve the experience. The honing films paired with the sharpening system made it easy to get a mirrored finish on the edges. Iโve already sharpened a couple of my knives in D2 steel and the Extra Course stone included in the kit had no issues getting a quick edge on the blade. Great product!

This Is The Last system you'll need
This is the last one you'll need I've used quite a few different types of sharpeners for my knives Lansky,GATCO,APEX Edge Pro, Smith and compared to this one they are all cheap junk this is by far the best. Sharpening was fast and easy about a half hour per knife to get a shaving edge that's with re-profiling the knife touching up the blade will be a lot quicker..I didn't buy the base I made my own but I think its worth buying and will make sharpening easier. Made in the USA Easy to set up and use only one rod and holder Angel is always correct on both sides Solid build Good Customer service Lots of options on web site to take it to the next level. Cons: System is a bit pricey but its worth it. Not a field sharpener. Its not a Field sharpener kit

So terrific
I canโt believe I waited so long to post my review. This sharpener is amazing. Amazing. Iโve used it to sharpen utility knives, pocket knives, and our entire set on Global kitchen knives. Hereโs the trick with the lower angle (ie 11-15 degree) Japanese blades: you flip the fulcrum around. See the photos. Now mount the handle on a flat surface (I used a vise, gently) and adjust the angle using an angle gauge. Sharpen as instructed and voila, perfect edges.

Knife sharpening made easy?
I researched various, but similar knife sharpeners. This one appealed to me most as it clamps the blade between two aluminum jaws. There are other sharpeners that don't have that. I can honestly say, if you can't clamp the blade, don't even try. The clamp feature IMHO is a must. The honing stones it comes with are sufficient to get a mirror type edge finish. Very happy with the sharpness I can achieve with this. It is a bit challenging to adjust the angle as to not have to take too much material off the blade to get an edge. I was able to sharpen anything from a 2.5" folding knife blade to a 10" kitchen knife. Reason why I gave it 4 stars is simply that the guide rod has to be removed from the handle every time in order to fit into the case. If it were only 1/2" shorter it would fit into the case diagonal. I either cut the rod or drill a small hole in the case so it all fits. Other than that, very happy. Oh, one last note: => This is NOT for quick sharpening!!! It does take time ~30-45min depending on the condition of the blade. So if you want something very quick, this is not the sharpener for you! I don't mind the time, it is actually relaxing and fun to use.

A tremendous tool for sharpening your knives. I have ...
A tremendous tool for sharpening your knives. I have used Japanese waterstones for 15 years and wish I had tried this system sooner. It is a precision jig for consistently honing an edge at a whichever angle you need. I have re-established factory bevel angles and achieved razor sharpness in a matter of minutes. A significant initial cost that you will quickly realize is a tremendous value when you see how much time you will save.

Not worth the price
This feels like it would be a good value at half the price. 4 small diamond stones are clearly the bulk of the value, but the guide system feels almost homemade. The clamp is mediocre at best (I need to add a layer or 2 of masking tape onto a couple of my knives i order to get them to hold tight enough) and other parts (angle adjustment, guide rod, and knob that keeps stones in place) all require additional tools (pliers or screwdriver) in order to get them tight enough. That being said, it works- but so does a Lansky for 25% of the cost. For 2 bills, the engineering should be tighter.

Three KME is unsurpassed in its price range for a pocket knife sharpening system. Their diamond stones last a really long time and are super high quality.

I thought the case was dinky but it fits the optional stand and extra stones I purchased separately. Check if it does what you need. You wonโt get a very low angle and itโs suited to >24 cm blades but it is a quality piece of kit that will last you a lifetime.

I've tried wicked edge, spyderco sharp maker, Lansky and edge pro. Much prefer the kme to the others to the point I sold the others besides the spyderco which I might give to a friend. Don't need anything besides the kme. This basic kit will get you a great edge but if you have a damaged edge you might want to order the extra 100 grit and 50 grit stones from kme directly. The 140 grit that comes with the kit can work but will take a lot longer and with the harder steels like m4, elmax etc you will wear out the stones faster, would be better to start with a more aggressive stone. There's many YouTube videos reviewing it and a great Facebook group called kme users with plenty of useful info.
