E' sempre bello ogni tanto tornare tra le braccia di Paolo Conte, tra le braccia di una figura totalmente atipica nel panorama cantautorale italiano. Lui e De Andrè, cosi diversi e cosi uguali, cosi unici e personali, i due monoliti assoluti e ineguagliati della canzone d'autore italiana.Possiedo questo album in vinile da parecchi anni e il prendere questa copia in cd non è altro che un atto d'amore verso quel vinile che ha svolto egregiamente il suo dovere e ora potrà riposare un po'.Ho fatto la stessa cosa con "Un gelato al limon" e "Paris milonga", una triade da paura che a mio avviso rappresenta lo zenith creativo dell'avvocato astigiano (nel mezzo c'è anche "Appunti di viaggio" che non scherza neppure lui...)Questo album a mio avviso porta a pieno compimento le idee musicali del maestro che si erano sviluppate in "Un gelato al limon", erano state affinate in "Paris Milonga" a poi sublimate in questo album. Un perfetto equilibrio tra canzone francese, l'amore incondizionato per il jazz specie per quello di derivazione swing, l'amore per i ritmi afro cubani e poi, a livello di testi, il perfetto equilibrio tra goliardia popolana e autentica poesia lirica.Davanti a un album del genere non ti prendi la briga di citare un singolo brano, sai che faresti un torto a quelli che restan fuori e qui non c'è nulla che debba restare fuori. Non c'è un arrangiamento che non sia perfetto, non c'è un brano che ti coinvolge, che non ti faccia sorridere, o riflettere o ballare.Poche storie, il Conte che ha dal 1974 al 1984 è semplicemente sublime. Come detto, lui e De Andrè due fari, due ruspe che aprono strade nuove che però pochi (nessuno..) sapranno ripercorrere.Un must della canzone d'autore e non parlo semplicemente di quella italiana...

Italien ist das Land Europas wo die schönste Musik her kommt und das auch die meisten gesungene Klassiker produziert hat. Nicht nur Opera sondern auch Lieder der Leichte und Popmusik. Lieder auch die uns immer wieder auf eine Terrasse am Italienische Meeresufer versetzen wenn wir unsere Augen schließen.

There is very good music in that film and one song in particular grabbed my attention namely “Sparring Partner”.Finding the song on this (Used – Very Good) CD, which was cheap enough, I then order it. Not being sure how I would find the rest of the CD, I am pleased to find that I do like the rest of it, and a couple of tracks in particular I like other than “Sparring Partner”, those stand out tracks being: the instrumental jazz track “The Music All?”, and the song “Gli Impermeabili”.Paulo Conte is an amazing musician and composer and singer but most of his music is not of a genre that I would be listening to too readily and having listened to samples of other Paulo Conte CD’s I probably won’t be rushing to buy more of his music but I do love the version of his song “Sparring Partner” which appears on this CD and am very pleased with this purchase.
