Use it at work to help me keep heavy forklift hoods stay open

Tried ordering a replacement Hood lift strut for a recently purchased Used Car, 3 "Guaranteed to Fit" options (2 at local Auto Parts and 1 thru Amazon) were milled too small at the ends and did not fit the fixed Studs they must attach to, so I tried this in frustration, and I'm most impressed. EXTREMELY solidly built, and you can apply it with one hand while holding the Car Hood up with the other. Does double duty for the Trunk lift struts (they still work, but the Trunk can slam down if jarred or high winds). Could use this as a Clamp for most anything that will fit into the aperture, such as a piston hold open on a Screen Door. Recommended without hesitation.

Yes. The tool did show signs of previous usage, but the results speak for themselves. A low cost, effective, and easy if not temporary replacement for my hood strut support on my 2007 kia optim 2.4.

cars, trucks, and all sorts of things have those air cylinders that hold open doors and windows. when they don't work as good as they used to, these locks clamp on the rods to hold them in place.

Has a brass tip that does not mar the strut rod when you open the hood/tailgate. That way it keeps the strut rod from tearing or damaging the strut seal and losing pressure or fluid out of the cylinder.Nice way to close the gap on spark plugs (instead of tapping on the center electrode). Especially convenient with double platinum plugs.
