Blue gun for outdoor use or if your CCW is a small caliber that cannot accept a laser cartridge.
I am happy with my purchase. I bought it for the blue practice gun. Less intimidating for youths and nosey neighbors. No recoil. No projectiles. It cannot chamber live ammo. Comes as a package deal with the target at a 2 for 1 price. I like the solid targets over use of a phone app. More versatility. A good option if your CCW is a small caliber that cannot accept a laser cartridge. This target works. It is set up for a timed challenge. Basically, this device offers three targets in one, with a count down, impact sound, and shot placement displayed for the third shot. I guess the first two shots are a warmup. It sounds a bit hokey because it is. For variety, add multiple adversaries targets off to the sides at $40 to 100 each (late 2022). My choice is Angeebin. You can shroud a physical target to work OUTDOORS. Wait for an on-sale weekend. Blue gun and target together went for $170 in late 2022. For realistic practice indoors with your own gun's grip angle and sights, load up to six laser cartridges in your large caliber DA handgun. Laserlyte offers them. Read the reviews before you make a purchase. Look at compatibility issues for phone apps. The key is the "linger-on time" of the laser.

Works well with my SIRT Pistol
Ammunition is terribly expensive and I need to practice the FBI qualification test which is 60rds. The test is all about firing rapidly and accurately from a draw, so the ability to practice quietly with "free ammo" has given me hours to smooth out. This laserlyte target works well for the stages that I need to practice, such as draw, three shots right hand, three shots left hand all under eight seconds. It doesn't time the shots, but it does show me six hits (or not if I need more practice). The target is expensive, but so much cheaper than live fire and more fun than dry fire.

Good, but could be better
Another addition to the Laserlyte line. This listing is for the target only. It comes with batteries but does not include a laser module (needs to be purchased separately).I can wholeheartedly recommend the Laserlyte LT-PRE laser module for use with any of these laser targets. It has a few key features that make it far more user friendly than other models:1) it's finger adjustable for calibers from .380 or 9mm up to .50 so you can use it in various different platforms including the plastic trainers without having to buy individual modules for different calibers (or needing a tiny screwdriver to adjust for different bore sizes)2) it has an on/off button as opposed to needing to unscrew some modules and/or remove the batteries to turn them off3) it has elevation and windage screws to fine tune the aim/point of impactFirst off, since the overwhelming majority of Laserlyte target reviews seem to neglect mentioning one very important (IMO) aspect, I tested the maximum target sensor diameter on this target, and it's about 4" in diameter. As shown in the picture, there are white rings on the target area. A hit anywhere on the largest white ring (up to 1/16" outside of it) will register as a hit (and of course, any hits inside that will register). This outermost white ring measures exactly 4" edge to edge, giving a radius of 2" from the center. On my target, the sensor is asymmetrical. The top half of the target will register hits to about midway into the outermost red part of the target, increasing the target radius to almost 2.25".The bottom half of the target doesn't register hits that far out. On the bottom half, the hits must be within about 1/16" of the outermost white ring, with the exception of the 5:30 section (5:30 on a clock face) which will register a hit midway into the outermost red ring.In comparison, the sensor on the Laserlyte Plinking Can targets is an oval approximately 1.5" high by 1.7" wide.I find the 4" diameter target size to be a much better size even out to 30 feet for reaction/draw use, where the much smaller plinking can targets would require much more precise aim (or placing the targets much closer to the shooter). There are 2 modes of operation for the Quick Tyme target. The Timer mode and Target mode (selected by shooting the lower right Set Timer/Reset target. When the counter in the lower center shows 0.0 it's set to Target/Practice mode. Shooting it again will display 9.9 which is the Timer mode). In the Timer mode, shooting the lower left circle marked Start/Display, initiates a countdown from 5 seconds with a visual display of progressively smaller lit rings of LEDs on the target at each second of countdown, with the visual countdown indicator ending with 1 lit LED in the target center, followed by a beep that begins the shot clock. You can watch the video on the Laserlyte website to see what this looks like. The shot clock starts counting time in 0.1 second increments starting from the beep until the target is hit. A hit will produce a beep and flash, stopping the shot clock. You have a maximum of 9.9 seconds to hit the target before it automatically stops the shot clock. In the Target/Practice mode, you can shoot the target repeatedly (it won't beep or flash after each hit). You can then shoot the Start/Display target on the lower left and the target will light up your hits consecutively for up to a maximum of 25 hits. This provides a good tool for accuracy practice, especially when paired with the fine point of aim/impact adjustability of the LT-PRE laser module.I gave the Quick Tyme target only 4 stars because I think it would have been even better if Laserlyte had programmed a Quick Draw/Reaction time mode without the visual countdown, i.e. you initiate the target and at anywhere between 3-8 seconds, it randomly produces a flash and beep to start the shot clock, measuring your reaction time/quick draw and fire from that random flash/beep to the hit on target. That coupled with a shot clock that can measure to 0.01 seconds would be a GREAT Quick Draw practice tool/game.Yes, you can shoot the Start/Display then close your eyes and wait for the beep, but since the countdown timer is a fixed 5 seconds, you can anticipate the beep. The best way to use this seems to be pairing it with other targets, i.e. initiate the timer, then shoot other targets ending with this one to see your elapsed time for all targets. That of course, requires you to have/purchase additional targets.Overall, this is a decent practice tool that also works as a fun (albeit expensive) game.

Have fun, save money, glimpse the future
The LaserLyte system (blue pistol and target) does not come close to an Olympic laser target rifle or laser target pistol in accuracy, but it's accurate enough to be credible and it provides an entertaining taste of the inevitable future of shooting for an amazingly affordable price. Future of shooting? Roll the clock forward 30 years when electric car battery technology has enabled high powered laser weapons. Why inevitable? Cost, plain and simple. That will be then, this is now. So what does the LaserLyte bring you today? First and foremost, its only operating costs are occasional transfusions of dirt-cheap AA batteries (target) and LB44 coin batteries (pistol). Second and significantly, you can shoot in the privacy of your own home, day or night (it's virtually silent) without endangering your housemates or pets. Third, it's just plain fun! Whether you're practicing quick draws or concentrating on bullseyes, the blue pistol handles well and the target's LED "bullet holes" provide reasonable feedback. Most likely, you'll get into a "groove" with the LaserLyte in your own, unique style...and you'll happily "blast away" several times a week (or day). Then the telling question may occur to you: "How much money do I need to spend and how much lethal firepower do I need to exert to kill sheets of paper?" Enjoy!

Works As Intended
Nice product and works as stated. HOWEVER, a bit overpriced given its limited capabilities.Sensitive to daytime lighting in room.

Not a good start
I set it up as soon as I got it to check it out, but there was clearly something wrong: random flashing lights and no response to the commands. I called LaserLyte but they were as much use as a button on a sock, they said it “was probably defective “ and to return it. As part of the return process there was an option to talk to an Amazon tech expert which I did. Even less use than LaserLyte, trapdoor in a canoe level. The expertise consisted of reading out the instructions that came with the kit, and I’d already done that several times! I thanked him and told him I’d return it, to which he replied that wasn’t one of the options but he’d make an exception for me! Funnily enough it was an option, I did return it and received the replacement today. Maybe I’m cynical and suspicious, but I’m not convinced that this is a brand new unit: it’s not in branded packaging like the first one, the batteries weren’t installed in the pistol like the first one, and there are no Allen keys to adjust the sights. I’m going to test it hard for a week before deciding and updating my review.

Do you know how to spell FUN...LaserLyte!!
This item, used to teach new users and even police and other associations is the most advanced caseless firing target I have ever seen ( for the price point ). Teaching AND showing hits with merely lase light! No, bang, po pellets on the carpet to clean. Open the box....Extract and READ instructions.Insert batteries AND away you go. Turn on your laserlyte (squeeze both buttons on the laser to activate) and be prepare to be entertained all day long/ Different modes (timers, draw times, target history and accuracy). Everything you need to become the Best Shooter you can be. Cheers gentlemen and good work...make the next lever upgradeable via internet.BLINK, BLINK!

It's a lot of money for what you get.
Construction is insanely flimsy, if it falls and hits the ground, it's done. As well, there aren't a whole lot of receptors in the unit, so you'll find you quite often seem to be hitting in the exact same spot, but as a shooter of 35 years, I know my groups, this is not really accurate. Would be nice if you could use a remote to start/reset it.

No sealed package, No Allen keys & No battries - Not sure whether its used or bran new
No sealed package, No Allen keys & No batteries - Not sure whether it works or not.Come without any sealed box (Just in cardboard without any brand name) as if it was used previously. Paying 670 for this seems to be dodgy.

First order was a defect, also doesn't come with battery.
The package works as advertised. But for a $400 plus package you would think it would atleast come with batteries, nope. The first order I made was actually defective the gun didn't work had to get a replacement. For all these reasons, only 3 stars.
