Me and my wife, we couldn't wait for it to arrive. We've seasoned it immediately. First great thing about this set is that it includes seasoning and use/care instructions on the packaging.When talking about the packaging box. Firstly, we really love the box. Considering some other sellers provide a simple brownish carton box, this one comes in full color with pictures, instructions etc. It's definitely the product we will consider buying as a present for the upcoming Christmas holidays.Secondly, the cushioning of the packaging. When making a decision which set to buy, we've read some other sellers' reviews where customers reported broken pestles or similar. This set has a thick cushioning. I believe none will arrive broken, even though the transportation can sometimes be pretty rough.In addition, it is a very nice product, it's heavy and therefore stable on counter top. It comes with foam pads which prevent counter top from being scratched. Great idea Tudimo!Overall, we love it so far. Other potential buyers should consider the fact that this is really a heavy item (do not drop it on your foot!) and when getting free shipping - the value you get for the price is exceptional.Well deserved 5 stars!!!

The product arrived on time. It was very well packed with foam support preventing any accidental damage. As soon as unpacked it and set it on my counter I had a feeling of going back in time to my grandmother’s house on the Polish countryside. Every summer when she would bake for the family, us kids would fight over one of those prized possessions… her mortar and pestle.This one I bought is very unique, carved from one piece of granite unlike the ceramic ones I have tried. The glossy black finish on outside and natural stone color inside make it look very traditional and classy. It’s very stable and quite heavy so it does not move easily and the pestle feels comfortable in hand making grinding easier. Bottom pads prevent from scratching the counter top, both while using it and moving around the kitchen.Since I received it I used it few times grinding spices. The working surfaces of the mortar and pestle fit very well so they grind very fine. I’m very glad I stumbled upon this product and I would definitely recommend it to all my friends.

This is seriously heavy and that is seriously good. The bowl is stable and pestle is shaped perfectly to grind and pulverize. Garlic takes on different properties if it is cut vs ground. Much sharper taste when minced. Moreover, the pulverizing brings out all the juices and is much easier to distribute through a dish. Got a much more aromatic and pulp like paste of ground cumin seeds as well. Cleans up easily with warm water. I'll be using this often!

I had been looking for a mortar and pestle set for a long time but failed until now. This set is just perfect: solid, stable, not slippery, not too small, not too large. More importantly, the curve of the pestle bottom is similar to that of the mortar bottom, which makes great contact and thus fine crushing/grinding. I like to crush my spices just before they are used, and it’s so handy to have this mortar and pestle on my kitchen countertop. It’s also so pretty~. I think I will use this for my lifetime.

I bought this mortar and pestle to mash up the ingredients for a traditional Mexican guacamole and to grind spices for Indian dishes. It works like a charm and looks great on my countertop. It's a pretty substantial hunk of stone made of beautiful greenish black granite with sparkly crystals. I suspect it will outlive me. My only quibble would be the three rubber pads on the bottom. They were put on unevenly, allowing the bowl to rock when grinding hard. Thankfully, they included some spare rubber pads, so with six pads now on the bottom it's much more stable. It's a good tool to have in a kitchen and I would rate this as a good value.

This is an effective product and very effective, but I've had no experience in using a mortar and pestle. I followed the instructions for what the manufacturers call "seasoning," which entails grinding some plain white rice in a small amount of water until it's a paste. The idea, I guess, is to absorb whatever granite dust may be lingering from the manufacturing process. This is where my learning curve kicked in, as I had no clue as to what motions were effective to do this. This is especially true since the rAw rice is tough and granular, and never really got to the paste stage that they called for. But some of it did, and it did absorb some granite dust. at least judging by the grey tone it acquired.I ended up going on line to watch a youtube video of how to use a mortar and pestle, and by the time I got to grinding my first item, Sichuan peppercorns, it went smoothlyMy recommendation is that the manufacturers make a youtube video of how to break in and use their product.I cannot judge the durability of the product since I just got it yesterday and have used it once. But it's granite, what can go wrong? Unless there's a fault or something that causes it to break somewhere down the line, I guess it should get high marks for durability, but I left this blank.

Great product! I have ordered others and did not like the width. This item had a wide enough base that I could easily crush / grind. It also had rubber grips at the botom to keep the base in place while I used it and the rubber grips also helped so I would not scratch my countertop or wooden table. It even came with extra rubber grips in case I needed to add another or one came off. And the design was not ugy like other similar products. The sleek and polished surface makes it easy to leave on the counter almost as an accent piece of furniture. The product was packaged nicely and securely in styrofoam so that the item would not break. I feel good about ordering more to send as gifts because I know they will arrive intact.

Seguir las instrucciones para preparlo al recibirlo.Pesado lo cual es muy bueno en términos de estabilidad. Cuidado que no se caiga al suelo, o a parte de fracturarse el mortero, podría acabar en la casa de tu vecino de abajo

Really love, quality granite. Nice and heavy and just the right size to fit a decent amount of ingredients but not take up a huge amount of space on the work surface. Looks very stylish. Easy to season and comfortable to use.
