It all started with my wife’s choice of an iPhone case. She choose an Otter (good choice) from a company which stenciled the back with an elegant gold watch motif. I commented idly that steampunk was an unusual choice for her. She looked blank, so I inundated her with steampunk images. She was so fascinated by their retro intricacy, that she asked for a pair of cuff links in the style. I choose these for her and she loves them. HOWEVER, they come in a fine case swaddled in little ziplock bags. DO NOT THROW THE BAGS AWAY! You’ll need them to protect the cuff links FROM ONE ANOTHER, as the clockwork-like mechanisms are all exposed! The tiny gears will snag upon and be torn away by anything. While this is unlikely to happen while you wear them (unless you are preternaturally clumsy), they can get caught on one another if stored together unprotected, and you’ll not store them any other way. So save the bags (and the jewelry box, come to think of it). Aside from that precaution, these are fun and fair-priced pieces of costume jewelry.

Bought and sent to my husband while he was on a business trip. He bought a new shirt that was French cuffs and never owned a pair of cuff links before. He needed something quick. I found these and loved them. I figured he would also since he use to collect old pocket watches and loved looking at the movements of them. Very sturdy and great detail of the movements. Those of you who are into steam punk would also appreciate these. Definitely nicer then I thought they would be and they arrived on time for him to wear them. He loves them and gets several compliments on them whenever he wears them.

These cuff links add a nice subtle look to french-cuff shirts from an aesthetic perspective. In terms of functionality, I only got 4-5 wears out of them before the front section came undone. I wear cuff links on a daily basis and am particularly conscious of what I hit my wrists on to avoid damaging cuff links. My right cuff link (dominant hand) came undone after a long day of meetings in NYC. Upon inspection of my broken cuff link, it appears as though there are two components to the links that are (poorly) glued together. These are not a very high quality item and will not withstand much wear-and-tear. 2/5 stars

Everything I expected!

Purchased during my home move, couldn't find where I packed my other cufflinks. This set covered most of my everyday events and some evening-out attire that combined silver with a hint of gold. A great purchase.
