I did not expect a comic book but got that instead of a novel.

A great novel whose art is overshadowed by the film
There's no doubt that this is an excellent short novel and among Dick's best works, and I was excited by the prospect of seeing it in graphic novel form. While the art itself is indeed pretty good, I was hoping for something less obviously informed by Ridley Scott's Bladerunner, which most fans know is only loosely related to the novel. Readers expecting to see visual echoes of the film will not be disappointed, but I think it would have been a more fitting hommage to Dick's originality to see Tony Parker develop a correspondingly distinctive artistic vision. Despite this reservation I am enjoying the series and plan to buy future installments.

Great for clasic sci-fi nuts.
I got this for my dad at Christmas and he loved it. It adapts the book word for word, apparently, so he was quite pleased. We agreed on the art being top notch as well, and the book is pretty high quality. It's a little obnoxious having to track down six volumes for one book's worth of material, but that's part of the charm of comics anyway, I guess. If you're ok going six for one, or don't mind having an incomplete set, it's definately a cool adaptation.

Nice art, but plot is a bit thin
Same setting, same sort of characters, same type of storyline as that of Phillip K Dick, but not nearly as captivating as the original. The characters are not developed in any sort of depth this time around, compared with the work of Dick who specialises in writing in small details and incidents to produce an absorbing and believable storyline. This prequel written by others does not captivate in the same way. It relies on super powers (being able to detect ambushes), and I feel misses an opportunity to expand on the reason and process that a large amount of the human population goes through in deciding to leave Earth for more favourable climes.Granted the art work is top quality, and the work is respectful of the original author.

Great Adaptation
Love the fact the original book has been turned into a graphic novel, and done by a group which sticks true to the original content and visually conveys the imagery one receives when reading the original book.

Great series
If you like the book, or love the movie Blade Runner and haven't read it, this is a fun way to do that. Interesting art and a great story.

Volume 2, indeed
The second volume of this 6-volume series continues the story where volume 1 ended. It is indeed a quicker read than volume 1. Maybe volume 1 needed some weight in words to set the mood (although the graphics help a lot with this). Nonetheless, this allows for more action to take place and takes the reader through the world Philip K. Dick created.Again, Tony Parker's illustrations set a perfect mood and set the scene very well. Adding an illustration of a city-scape from time to time really add to the realism of the story. Of course it's science fiction...but the images just make you wonder. Well done Mr. Parker!I've found this to be an interesting series from the beginning and I'm looking forward to reading the upcomming volumes!

This is a must-have for Blade Runner fans
This is a must-have for "Blade Runner" fans. A true graphic novel, it is word-for-word identical to the Philip K Dick novel by the same same, except this publication also includes stunning graphics.
