REALLY good mountain bike speaker....delivers everything as promised!
Did my homework when looking to purchase a bluetooth speaker! Durability, portability, features, sound quality and cost were the most important factors for me. This was to be a multi use speaker.....boat, camping, beach and primarily mountain biking and snow skiing. (have yet to take it skiing yet) I ride pretty aggressively and was concerned with durability. Will this hold under a heavy pounding....will the speaker stay in the cage! Yes, yes and MORE YES! I've wiped it several times on the bike doing jumps and downhill stuff and it's good to go! I've not been able to figure out the voice mode which would really help me figure out which mode I'm in. Battery life is great and the controller is nice but difficult to operate in rough trail. Here are my only complaints.....Sound quality isn't the best but it's a small speaker and the features outweigh the lack of sound quality. Don't let your controller get wet! (bike was on the rack traveling interstate downpour.....took 2 weeks for it to dry out and work again. Really wish this thing was water PROOF and not just water resistant. Not sure where snow falls in this category, but we'll see!IF YOU RIDE (bike or ski).....this is the one to get! It's not too small......and not too big! IT'S JUSSST RIGHT!

I love this speaker!
Excellent way to bring tunes on the bike without blocking road noise with headphones.Pros:- Great sound. 360 degrees sound lets you hear it no matter where it's mounted on the bike. Volume goes up loud enough to hear even with the wind in your ears. You can also change volume with buttons on the speaker or right from your phone, whichever is easier to reach.- Long battery life. So far I've gotten 8+ hours on a charge. That lasts me almost a week of riding and is longer than any single ride I might be on.- Easy controls. Buttons are large enough and placed on the top. Not difficult to change volume and/or skip songs without looking.- Fits into a standard bottle cage or in the larger cage that comes with it (water bottles fit into the speaker cage, too, so you're not giving up water space if you don't have the speaker.)- It's waterproof! Had it with me and got caught in an unexpected heavy rainstorm. It played throughout, never missed beat (so to speak...), and continues to work just fine.Cons: (Which do not warrant rating it less than 5 stars)- When you turn it on the volume is on max every time, and you have to wait for the music to start playing before you can turn it down. Then, when you lower the volume, it goes to very quiet until you adjust it to where you like. I wish it would stay at the volume it was when you turned it off.- The little door that covers the charging port broke off when I slid it into the cage because it wasn't closed the whole way. It would be better designed if the door would slide up inside the case instead of hanging off to the side. I "fixed" this with some electrical tape, but have to remove it each time to charge it.- The phone and radio functions seem unnecessary. It might be nice to have a somewhat simpler (cheaper?) model that is only a speaker.Highly recommended for any cyclist.

Overall, good. Not as great - in my opinion - as many reviews would lead you to beleive.
Overall this is a good speaker, it works as advertised and sounds fine. I bought this model instead of other name-brand options because it’s specifically designed to mount in a water bottle cage, on a bike – which is how I use it. The other appeal – at least for me – was the TF (micro-SD) slot/playback feature and handlebar wired remote. When in TF mode, the device looks for compatible audio files and automatically plays them, one after another, and then starts over – it’s perfect for my routine. The audio quality is good, but not great. The speaker is loud and clear through mid and high range, but low frequencies (bass) really aren’t very prominent. This wasn’t unexpected though, its form factor is relatively small so there isn’t an abundance of sound pressure and this device lacks the engineering and design pedigree of similar products from JBL, Sonos and others. It’s made mostly of plastic and weighs just over a pound. The outer wrap is a rubber/plastic cage that molds to the outside (reminds me of a phone case) and forms around a metal mesh speaker protector. The inside contains two circuit boards, a medium sized battery and two speakers. Photos attached – CAUTION, if you decide to open your speaker like I did, there is a fine copper wire – I think the radio antenna – to be mindful of.I like the wired remote more than I thought I would. Because I use the speaker mostly in TF mode, the remote comes in handy for pause/play, volume up/down and skip-to-next track. The only thing I would change is to make the remote slightly bigger with the buttons further apart (so I don’t mash more than one button while wearing gloves) and to illuminate (or back-light) the icons for night riding. The FM radio seemed to work fine when I unboxed and tested everything, but I don’t use it so I can’t speak to the antenna or its ability to tune in all the various local stations.I don’t utilize the Bluetooth/phone pairing feature since that doesn’t fit with my routine. One reviewer mentioned that the bottle cage mounting hole locations could be a bit lower (shifting the speaker upward) and I tend to agree. For my installation, the speaker ended up lower than I preferred. I decided to use a traditional, plastic water bottle cage (that I modified) and the final position works fine. The thing about the speaker, and its proprietary cage though, is that although it looks round, it’s more of a square-tube form-factor so it would be nice to keep the two made-for-each-other items together. In the future, I may end up modifying the original Blue Celtic cage and updating this review.Although It’s unlikely that in the course of my riding routine, the speaker will get wet – either from rain or general riding conditions, I could see an issue with the small rectangular rubber cover that ‘seals’ up the remote-control jack and the TF card slot. Because I use the wired remote, the cover must remain open and could expose that area to the elements.Overall, this is a nice speaker and works great for my cycling routine. I initially questioned the $90 price tag as a bit high, but considering it has Bluetooth, FM radio, a micro-SD slot, a handy (wired) remote and a custom mounting cage, the cost seems suitable. I have also used this one time at a work function where ambient music was needed, and it worked/sounded great – so it can be used for a lot more than what I’m doing.
