Excellent, as usual!
A great mystery you cannot fathom until 99% through the book. A page turner and all the other cliches, just a good read and a lot of fun!!!!

They keep getting better!
Siegel's books are addicting! His writing, the way he expresses himself lets you see into Mike's mind. I'm ready for book #8!

The best one yet.
I have read 1-7 so far of the Mike and Rosie series, and I have to say this is the best one yet. It usually takes me several days to read Sheldon Siegel’s books. Because they are long and sometimes go on and on, but not this one.I continue to love the dynamics between Mike and Rosie and haven’t decided if I want them to totally get back together or just leave it the way it is. ‘If it ain’t broke, don’t fix it.” This works for them. I also will wait to see how they handle Grace, their now 16 yr old daughter, yikes, that’s never easy, before I pass judgement. On to book #8. Hope it is close to this good. Love, love, loved it.

“Your daughter is as stubborn as my daughter.”
New Public Defender, Robert Kidd, is trying to get Mike Daley and Rosie Fernandez to come back to work at the Public Defenders office…Mike was awakened by a telephone call from Rosie (ex-wife, current law partner) at two in the morning. Their sixteen year old daughter’s boyfriend, Bobby Fairchild has been arrested — for murdering his Superior Court Judge father. What was his motive? The Prosecution will say the bitter divorce his parents were going through was the reason...Bobby was found by police standing over his father’s body— bloody and holding the hammer that killed him. Bobby says he was trying to save his father’s life. Where will the evidence lead?Grace is Bobby’s (Perfect) Alibi. They had been out for dinner and a movie. Grace, Bobby and Bobby’s mother (Julie) want Mike and Rosie to handle the case, even though they would rather not. They usually only handled smaller cases, but agree to represent Bobby — with the understanding that they will withdraw if there is a conflict of interest (involving Grace). Are Grace and Bobby telling the truth?I was immediately drawn into this story and remained captivated until the very last page. The plot was well thought-out, well written and very believable. The characters were described in such a way that you could immediately visualise them as the story unfolded. The story moved along at a decent pace and there were plenty of twists and turns to keep the reader entertained. I did not figure out who the murderer was until the big reveal. I like the way the book ended…

Another enjoyable legal mystery in this series.
4 stars for another well written legal mystery. I have now read 7 books in this series and enjoyed every single one. I have converted my wife into a fan of this series. This is book 7 in the series, but it can be read as a stand alone.Sheldon Siegel writes believable plots and characters. This book has Mike Daley and Rosie Fernandez defending Bobby Fairchild, accused of killing his father, Judge Fairchild. Bobby was found with the murder weapon in his hand at the scene of the murder. Bobby's parents are in the middle of an acrimonious divorce. Bobby is the boyfriend of Grace Daley, daughter to Mike and Rosie. Bobby and his mother decide to hire Mike and Rosie, because Judge Fairchild told Julie Fairchild that Mike Daley was one of the best criminal defense lawyers in San Francisco. The courtroom scenes are excellent. The author is a lawyer specializing in corporate law. If you like legal mysteries, I strongly recommend this series. This was a kindle purchase.

Parents and Daughter Learn life lessons.
The Mike Daley / Rosie Fernandez legal thrillers never disappoint. They are very true to real life situations. Always the characters and the lawyers learn life lessons. Mr Seigel takes the reader on the journey with the lawyers and has an excellent ability to take a reader into their true thoughts. I think every book I have read so far in this series has been a book that is hard to put down.

A very delicate subject
Perfect Alibi was different from the other books in the Daley/Fernandez series that I have read so far. It got a little too personal when they became involved with their daughter’s boy friend and then Grace as well. I only gave it 3 stars because it felt like Seigel was stretching to get the story told. Regardless, I am off to the Book 8 and look forward to reading what I hope this time is his usual elegant telling of a real thriller.

Each of Siegel's courtroom drama's is worse than the last.
Each of Siegel's courtroom drama's is worse than the last. I won't bother with them any more. This author may think it realistic to have the client lie to his defence counsel but in fact it is just tedious. He has used this device too many times before and it has the same result every time. Rather than making the plot interesting it just means he hurriedly ties it up at the last minute with revelations that have little to do with what has gone before and nothing to do with the courtroom process. As a result, rather than a thrilling disinterment of the truth through clever cross examination, which is what a courtroom drama is all about, the courtroom material here is a waste of time. Worse yet, this author seems to think that people buy courtroom dramas to hear about the entirely predictable personal lives of his team of defence lawyers. As a consequence, most of this book bores us to death with the mundane issues of parents and teenagers. Truly appalling. I have no idea why this author is regarded as a good author of legal thrillers.

Gripping story well told
Mike and Rosie have serious family considerations in this book. The usual ups and downs of a case keep the interest.

Loved it
Loved it. But then I’ve loved every one of the series. The characters are great and the writing is excellent. My reason for not giving five stars and the only “fault” is that all,the stories follow very similar lines. But hey ho! still a darn good read
