It’s a tiny cauldron. Perfect for burning loose leaf smudges or making a small batch of black salt. It’s real cast iron. I used it on the stove on the smallest burner and at a lower setting because I was out of votive candles. It does get really hot if you use the stove top method. Even the handle gets hot since it’s real iron, so make sure you use oven mitt to handle and don’t set it on any surface that could melt or burn while it’s hot. I don’t know how hot it gets when you use just a votive. I’ll try that next.

I bought 2 and after using them a few times, threw them out. Too much trouble to return. They tip over very easy because the tiny feet are too close together. Also, the bowl is too deep to light the charcoal efficiently. You have to get the lighter in real close to the bricket and that's a safety issue for me. Finally, any incense you drop on the cast iron gets fused to the metal making it hard to scrape clean. I bought another burner and will give a review after using it for a while. MLB

Way too small but It is fire proof because I burn incense and palo santo in it all the time and works great
