Good but didn't help with my class
I got this book to aid me for my physical exam and differentials class but it actually didn't really help me get the differentials down, unfortunately. The book is laid out by CC and what could be the reason for the complaint but it just never matched what my professors stated were the differentials. The book is really nice and could be an excellent resource but it wasn't good for my class.

FNP-S
I found this book extremely straight forward and interesting. I often open this book (even when it is not recommended for the assignments) and find information that helps me with assignments and critical thinking. I am a FNP student and I am loving the format of this book, it is not your typical RN book that adheres to the nursing process. This book ventures out there with diagnostic studies and other possibilities!

Okay
This book is a little hard to follow organizationally. The information/ content is good and it's all there but it is broken up in a manner which I personally find hard to follow. May be better for someone else who thinks differently.

This is a great resource for Nurse Practitioner Students
This is a great resource for Nurse Practitioner Students. I am currently in an Advanced Health Assessment Course and it has been very useful as a supplement to our textbook.

Recommended.
This was required for my introduction to Naturopathic primary care class and has helped me out tremendously thus far. The text is pieced together in a very cohesive manner and does a splendid job at sorting out differentials. Recommended.

Great reference for the educated consumer
If you have this, plus a recent Medical Dictionary, you can --if necessary-- be your own advice nurse. This book will help you prepare for your next visit to the doctor, because you will know what questions they will ask you (or should ask you).

dense, maybe useful, generally mediocre
A compact book. Some of the information is interesting and potentially useful. Some key facts were not included, however, such as that cyclical abdominal pain in women is most likely of gynaecological origin. THe text felt quite disorganised; I would have liked more structured approach. The layout is mediocre, with a lot of long paragraphs stating only isolated, unconnected facts. This would be a very hard book to read through systematically. I imagine I'll use it to jog my thinking if stuck on a particular case. The student consult material is a bonus, although the self-assessment questions were scarce and very poor.
