Finally started using them
It took me a while to find a shop to program these spares. I had a key maker cut the keys so I could open the doors but the ignition key fob was not operational until a couple of weeks ago. Programming the keys was easy and I use one while keeping the original close by in case. The one minor problem I seem to have is that the range is not the same as with the original key.

They work
I had my locksmith come by and cut/program 2 more. They work.

UPDATE - NOT SO GREAT (formerly "Great--but you MUST have two working non-cloned keys")
*****************UPDATE 5/15/2017 - I've been steadily dissatisfied with the quality of this product has time has passed. The plastic shell is definitely cheap and fragile (and not "a little bit"). After a few turns of the key, the plastic shell broke apart. It was an easily fix with some super glue, but the plastic has chipped off in chunks. Finally, over the weekend, a large piece snapped off--and that included the part that connects to the ring. It also seems like the transmitter isn't as powerful as higher quality versions. So I no longer recommend this item. There are higher quality versions available, so spend a little more to get something that will last longer than 4 months.*****************This key style is very prone to having the little loop that hooks to the key ring break off. The original Dodge keys did it. The replacement key I bought at the dealer did it. It's just a design flaw. Like most people, I prefer to carry my keys on a ring rather than loose. So, when my last "good" one broke, I decided it was time to buy two new keys so I didn't have to carry mine separately (and so the wife could have one). The only problem: It was $250 per key at the dealer. I'm not sure my '05 Durango is even worth $500 (OK, it's worth more than that, but I'm not in the habit of throwing out that kind of scratch for a convenience.) So, compared to $250 per key at the dealer--or $125 at the locksmith--I had to give this a try.I got these for $30 delivered. They come "blank" and have to be cut. Your friendly local locksmith will be happy to cut them for you for a few bucks. Mine charged $4 per key and it took him 5 minutes. He offered to program them for $75 each, but I declined, hoping that the programming procedure I was told about would work. Now, here's the deal: Self-programming REQUIRES two working non-cloned keys. (Cloned keys don't count. I'm not sure how you tell if your keys are cloned. I guess if this doesn't work, that might be one reason.) If you only have one, this won't work. I had two working keys--they just have broken cases. The seller includes a card with a website link to the programming instructions. The instructions on the website were almost perfect. They had one minor but critical error, which I'll discuss below. So, the procedure for my Durango involves inserting each key into the ignition, in succession, turning it to "ON" (not "START"), and waiting a few seconds. There are various lights and chimes that let you know it's working. On the first attempt, I followed the procedure exactly as described, but at the end, the first new key didn't work. Second attempt: Same result. So I said, hey, maybe it's a dead battery (in the key). I tried the other one: Same result. Unlikely that both keys would be dead. I had visions of returning to the locksmith, tail between my legs, and having to shell out another $75 per key to get him to program them.I decided to try one more time, and I noticed that the instructions said to leave the first key in "ON" for 5 seconds, and the second key in "ON" for 10 seconds. I decided to leave them both in for 10 seconds, and in doing so I got a different combination of lights and chimes. By the time I was done, SUCCESS--the new key worked the locks and started the engine without the alarm going off. So I followed the slightly modified procedure for the other new key...and it worked as well. I now have four working keys. The two with broken cases will go in storage, and I (or my wife) can safely break or lose either or both of the new keys and not have to worry about paying the dealer $250 or the locksmith $125 for keys.Total cost: $38, including the keys and cutting. Savings: $462, or $212, depending. The quality seems equal to that of my factory original key, but time will tell if these hold up for as long as that one has. Probably not, but I can live with that.One-star deduction for having incorrect instructions.TIP: If you only have one working key, definitely go to a locksmith instead of the dealer--specifically one that can program new keys by interfacing with the car's computer. You can probably save a few bucks by buying this set, but check with the locksmith first, because they may have an all-in price that is cheaper if you buy the keys from them.

Working for my Jeep
I purchased a set of two of these keys for my Jeep Wrangler JK. I only had one OEM key, but I was able to use the iPhone app OBD JScan to program these keys. If you don't have that you will have to go to a dealership or possibly a locksmith for programming. Within a couple minutes, I had both programmed and all of the functions worked. It was actually more of a pain to find someone that actually still cuts keys. After about the fifth stop, I was able to get the keys cut at Ace Hardware and then program them.So far, these keys work well in every way. I have heard horror stories about generic keys stopping working 6-12 months down the road, but these are just extra keys for me. If they stop working, I will update this review.***********************************************************************************************************************************************I rely on reviews when I make purchases so I put a lot of time into reviewing everything I buy on Amazon for personal and my business. It works... and for a good price too!
My car is old, and has high mileage. Often I fix it myself (as my dad is an automotive mechanic and I have learned from him). I spent over $1100 on repair parts for it this year. Thus I was worried about whether I needed to get a new key fob for it since they are typically so expensive... I only had one and it's circuit board was beginning to fail. Well, I decided to give this a shot when I found Amazon's automotive department (wow amazon has everything). I was worried that the price meant that the key would be cheaply made. Instead it turned out to be an extremely good value for the money. Since I only had one key fob, I went to Batteries Plus Bulbs to get it programmed and cut. Their incompetent employees couldn't cut it though, so I took it to Home Depot. They cut it, and when they were finished, I went back to get it programmed at Batteries Plus Bulbs. It was supposed to be $40, but their incompetent employees also undercharged me. I guess sometimes, dealing with encompetent employees pays off. Also, in working to get this programmed, I discovered that my car will not crank if the key is not programmed to its PCM, so this was totally worth it. I will probably order a second key from this seller too. Oh, yeah I almost forgot to mention that the battery in my key fob was dead on arrival.
