Great reading
Makes for an excellent read. Aptly named, since the writing is truly from the heart. Narrated in a simple, no-frills style, without over-glorifying or underplaying any destination/country/its people. Ghosh's writing covers not just the places but the human experiences as well, especially from a "first-time visitor's" perspective, which often includes the awe one might feel standing in front of iconic monuments or at historic venues. Though Ghosh has travelled extensively, his writing retains the flavour of an everyday, regular person who may not have seen the different corners of the world, and in the process helping the reader to identify with the narrative. Overall, good stuff and certainly worth buying.

A well penned travellogue, an experiential journey
Have known Avishek for nigh on three decades now! The book is a reflection of the man. Honest, easy to love, helpful. Heart Travels is written in a conversational style that feels as if the writer is sitting across the table and talking to the reader himself. Full of relatable incidents, helpful tips, graphic descriptions, the book is enjoyable and informative.A few fortunate people get to travel but having the talent to share the wonderful with others is rare indeed. A passionate and gifted writer, I am eagerly waiting for the next installment of Heart Travels.

A Great Travelog
I had the privilege to read most of this book in its manuscript form. Avishek Ghosh will take you on the ride with him. The lucid language, the intertwined humor, the unknown dimensions of a known destination through a kaleidoscopic insight-- a must-read book.

A must for travel aficionados! That's just about every person around us!
Having known the author for over 2 decades now, his regular middle class upbringing, yet wonderful aspirations to take up his passion for travel so seriously and create a book out of it is very relatable! I think we all live to make our dreams come true about traveling all around the world and I couldn't be happier that the author has indeed lived his dream! It's a delightful read!

Travel memoirs written straight from the heart
The Heart Travels is a masterful debut, strictly non-fiction, where reading each chapter is like having a chat with a friend about a trip they've just returned from. Avishek Ghosh, the author is clearly a no-nonsense, seasoned traveller with an astounding ability to remember detail and recount it for readers. It is an unusually interesting, honest, unembellished first-person travel account, rich in trivia, detail and brilliant little anecdotes. Reading the book felt like I was making the trips myself, because the context for each was so well-explained and personal. Self-taken pictures of iconic locations are dotted around in the book, which make the accounts deeply personal and the readers' journey more fulfilling. The book does not span just one or two places, or focus on a handful of destinations - it covers a large number of varied locations across whole continents, each with its own quirk and special place in the world. Perhaps more colourful, tagged images in each chapter would have helped the book come to life even more than it already does! But it doesn't dampen the performance of the book at all, and it is hard to imagine Avishek being a first-time author. I look forward to reading more from the brilliant, succinct and keen observer that Ghosh obviously is.Here's a message for the author - A heartfelt thank you for writing!
