I want to start off by saying that these are light weight and a good fit for a beach cruiser bike. However, I could not understand how the screws and 2 nuts provided would secure the fenders to the bike. The instructions said that the fenders came with 2 nuts, but I had trouble understanding how the washers alone would keep all the other screws in place without a nut to secure it. Because the fenders provide the protection I need, I won’t be returning them, but I am disappointed that I had to rig everything else up with zip ties, because the screws provided are useless without a nut to secure it. Just a warning to any potential buyers, have your own screws and nuts to secure these onto your bike. P.S I don’t have the screws from the fenders I had before, due to rust and stripping.

These fenders really keep the dirt and water off you and the bike. These work well with wide tires and the extended mud flaps really keep water and dirt off the bike. Not just in the rain but all the time. I have a bike with no fenders and when I ride it I always come home with gritty shins: road dust, dirt and sand kicked up by the tires. This same stuff is getting in the chain, bottom bracket and the rest of the bike leading to additional wear and tear on the chain, bearings, and finish. They don't keep everything off the bike but they do make a huge difference from tires that spray dirt, grime, and water 360 degrees around the tire. In heavy rains my feet get a little damp. I use a rain cape which takes care of the rain coming down. There is a little spray from the front tire that hits my feet.And they look good. The silver goes with lighter bikes better than black. It would be kinda like wearing black socks with your white Pro Keds and white shorts. The edges of the fenders are clear with the center a nice silver/grey color.I have installed 3 sets of these fenders and they always go on easily. The key is to use the tension created by the springy stays and fender to help keep everything solid and steady. There is a little bit of tweaking needed to center everything nicely but it is not hard to get right.I do tend to lose the stay caps: they catch on things and pop off periodically. Planet Bike sells a 6 or 8 pack of them for a few dollars. I suppose I could glue them in place too. They also sell replacement stays and parts. I had one stay get bent and it was easy to replace with their spare parts. I bent the part back but it did not hold tension the same way and was just not quite right after.I also broke one of the safety releases loading my bike into a car without a wheel to protect the fender. Again they sell the spares to fix any problems. You need to be careful when you take off the wheels as the fenders can catch on things. If I have to squeeze the bike into the back of a car I will often plan to ride a bike without fenders (weather permitting).I have not used any other fenders so take my review with a grain of salt.

This is our third tandem bike. Our first one was a classic Trailmate with steel fenders. Our current tandem is a DaVinci. Installing and adjusting the fenders took a some time and thought to work around the disc brakes and rear rack supports. But, every bit of hardware needed to retrofit the fenders to our bike was included. The fenders and hardware are impressive and very good quality. I like the retro look of the fenders (look about the same as steel from any distance) and they keep the spray from coming up on us on wet roads. The fenders also keep some of the spray/dirt from getting on the bike frame and components. The only negative (which applies to just about any fender) is that I have to bend down to check for glass/rocks/etc. in the rear tire now as the fender obscures the view except for the lower part of the rear tire. This is not an issue on the front tire. I looked at a lot of fenders before picking these. I really like them and highly recommend them.

These are awesome fenders. They fit on my 26 inch schwinn mirada with no trouble at all. I did not need to cut any of the stays and the clearance is perfect. The quick release clips that are for the front wheel (for safety in case something gets between the front tire and the fender)came one on each fender instead, but I'm sure that was just human error. I had an easy time installing them with one other person to help. The extra set of hands is very nice. I would have appreciated a few more short bolts and a few more nylox nuts, but I was able to procure them at a local hardware store. It's possible to just use zipties(included black in the package) instead, but the nuts and bolts seem more secure. Very nice color, not too shiny but not completely matte either. They give a lot of coverage(mud flaps are a real plus and aren't obtrusive at all once fenders are on the bike) and should definitely keep me dry and clean when I'm riding through puddles on campus this fall. They are very well made and came flat in a box completely wrapped in padding without being tweaked out of alignment.

Typical PlanetBike high quality. These were not white but matte silver so the fenders were not shiny. I would liked to have had white to go with the colour scheme on my bicycle but unable to find them. I've installed several sets of fenders, mostly PlanetBike but one set of SKS Longboard for 700 size wheels. The install went quickly and there was hardware left over. Perhaps having all the attachment points on the bike drilled and threaded helped. I had to use longer bolts for the front fork lower mount due to my having a low rider front rack attached at the same braze-ons. My tire size is 26x1.75 (559mm) and these 60mm fenders had room to spare for a wider tire. Also helped that my bikes frame was wide enough to accept the wide fenders.

After 500 miles of mud puddles and often wet roads my Planet Bike Cascadia Bike fenders - 26" x 60mm (Silver) have not let me down. It rained 24 days in May where I live. In my journeyman cycling opinion their "Cascadia" design is second to none. Longevity remains to be seen.
