MTD KH-20-853-33-S Carburetor Asm

20-853-33-S / 2085333S This has the new modified solenoid which has the ground wire in the same connector. It doesn't matter which way you insert the connector, the solenoid will work both ways. I like this design better. Easy to install on my 2005 Cub Cadet LT1042 Kohler Courage 19 Engine, took me 10-15 minutes. I did have to take a small plastic fitting (for the throttle linkage) from the old carburetor and install it on the new one, I'm not sure if that part was supposed to be included or not and I can't remember if one was included the last time I replaced the carburetor (which was in 2012). It was easy to move that fitting over using needle nose pliers.I have replaced my Kohler's carburetor before so there was nothing to second guess except the new solenoid connector and a quick call to the seller, a authorized Kohler distributor, gave me the answer (as stated above, doesn't matter which way you install the connector).I now have two replaced carburetors that I may try to repair with the Kohler carburetor repair kit.

Of course, it was proceed very carefully from the start because this carburetor is a piece of precision design. Still, did not get it right. When start the engine, the throttle was overly open and can not be controlled. Consequently it race the engine so hard, some exhaust pipe got shake loose and fall on the ground. Then, another square piece with magnet also dropped off. The engine is now waiting to go into shop. Not the product's fault but my own.

I put the new carburetor on my lawn mower and it started right up, But this is a terrible set up and will not work if it sits for any length of time. Every time i need to mow my lawn I have to rebuild the carburetor to get it to start again. I only use premium gas and have tried using stabil additive but it is just a bad design at least for the hot weather we have here in Nevada.

New item, my cub cadet still have start yet , after changing this cab, but i have to change it any way, the screw under gas bowl a bit different.

INSTALED THIS ON MY 2006 LT 1045 CUB CADET. WORKS GREAT.

Previous owner caught the old one on fire using 3 cans of starting fluid. (He wasn't the sharpest tool in the shed.) This one works like a champ and the solenoid is an upgrade/improvement over the original OEM one. Used to revive a Cub Cadet LT1045 with a mere 40 hours on it. Like new now.

Fixed the mower that had been broken down for 3 years & not running properly for the previous 2 years. Good OEM part, nothing but good to say.Fit exactly, no issues whatsoever.
