-This is very sturdy and will last a lifetime
I looked at all the other POV iphone holders on Amazon and beyond and kept coming back to the Phonoscope. I just got it but here are my thoughts so far:My planned use: Demos of equipment and possibly capture of my laptop screen as I'm typing and clicking.-This is very sturdy and will last a lifetime. I tried a plastic unit someone else was selling and I broke in a day. You can sit on the Phonoscope and it keeps on ticking.-The Phonoscope relies upon a basic iphone holder that is fully adjustable and grabs the phone at the bottom and the top (horizontal use of the phone). I wanted to go with this approach because some other vendors require placing a magnet on your phone case. I didn't want to mess up my case nor did I want to have to purchase another magnet if I started using another case.-I suggest getting the extension unit. You will to be able to see your viewing screen (home screen on the phone) to see to frame up your shot. Even with the extension, it is still tight and requires some trial and error to get the right tilt of the phone holder and your body in the right spot.The only problem, and I think I can fix it, is that most people will need to have more stability than the chest-plate offers. The unit rests against your chest via a 1 1/2 inch padded metal plate. I suggest that need to be much wider so more of your chest can provide support. I'm going to find some plastic the size of a regular recipe card and drill a single hole in that. The provided chest plate is fastened with a single screw that I hope is long enough to hold the existing plate and my plastic addition. If not, I'm sure I can easily replace the screw with a longer one.That's it. I gave it 4 stars because of the chest plate issue.
