Review for the yummilicious Jared !!!
Christian Koehler is in a classic case of Rock meet Hard Place... As a social worker some of "his" street kids are missing and noone will believe there is something nasty going on.. so as a last resort he turns to the people, who in an effort to keep his heart from breaking, he walked away from & cut all contact with a year before.Jared King knows he messed up big time over the last 3 years and now he's grabbing this chance to claim Christian as his own and he is never letting him go, no matter what anyone thinks or says and to hell with the fallout.Jared's Story is well written, tasteful and a wonderful story of a second chance at love. The characters are a family who draws you into their lives, so much so that you are a fly on the wall while the loving insults are flying and the coffee machine is brewing. (or in Jared's case refusing to brew & eating the coffee pods) Each member of the guardian family's characters are well developed and intricate, they are a dynamic that really works so well together and could easily be my family or yours. They draw you in and keep you turning the pages to see more of their stories.Kris Michaels creates all her characters with love and affection (which really shines through) and there is no end to where her imagination can take her for storylines and the settings her people find themselves in. With Jared's story, The Kings Of Guardian Series continues to have readers fanning their faces and holding their breaths to see what happens next... I loved it .. Well done Ms Michaels.

Jared and Christian
This book is sooo good. I have to admit I was pretty upset with Jared’s treatment of Christian in the last book and the first part of this one. Yeah, he’s pretty much an arse. But Kris Michaels is such a great author that she can redeem him. Christian had an awful childhood and was rescued by Jason and Doc. Jared and Christian have explosive chemistry but can Christian accept Jared’s apology and learn to trust him? Plus the pesky Russian Mafia is still after Guardian’s top men and these two are at the top of the list. This book is action packed, suspenseful, emotional and steamy. Oh yeah, I’ll mention that this is a m/m book and if that’s not your thing don’t read it. But this is a hot one!

Well Done!
It is probably difficult to write a gay romance when you and most of your readers are straight but this book is fantastic! The story was tastefully told and the action sequences were incredible. The challenges both men faced made them stronger! This was a really excellent read!

Keep Reading - Awesome!!!!
I was skeptical since I have not read M/M books and that is really not my thing. However, I love this series so much I felt would not be doing the author or the series justice by omitting one of the characters. The stories are so connected and the characters are so connected that even though they can be read as stand-alones there is a lot that is missing if you don't have the history or plot. Jared has been with the stories since the beginning and has been a rock no matter what has transpired on any mission. I felt that Kris Michaels handled this story beautifully. She developed Jared and Christian's relationship and the complexities magnificently. She created a wonderful love story while maintaining the strength of character that Jared is - nothing was lost in his tenderness. He is still one of my favorite characters! Beyond that the Russians are still coming! The plot thickens and the family is still threatened. I am worried about Chief and how this will all pan out. I love the Wonder Twins and look forward to their story - some day!

Another Fantastic Addition to the Series!
Yep, another amazing Guardian book. I have not read a Kris Michaels' solo or collab that has not been fantastic which is why I ARC her books when possible (as it gets the book in my hands earlier) but I always purchase and keep them stored on all of my Kindles (they are some of the best re-reads I have come across). This is her third M/M book (A Heart's Desire and An Evidence of Magic were first) and her first Guardian M/M.I really liked the story on this one. Keep in mind that Jared was a cop and not a specialist like Jacob, Jason, Joseph, and Alpha team (still hoping to get the Wonder Twins story sooner rather than later), so this story does not have the intense situations the other stories have. This is more of a Jared/Christian love story with a background intrigue that brings them together (finally). For those not into M/M, the sex is fairly short and easily skipped over. I love the fact that the author does not have her leads constantly thinking and leading with the wrong head - sure they like sex but the emotions behind the act are what these stories are about. The stories can be read as standalones, as the author skillfully condenses the needed information from previous stories into a couple of strategically placed paragraphs (Jared's scar from the rescue in "Jacob" and Christian's abuse from "Adam"). However, I would read them in order just for continuity (Joseph seems to be the truest stand alone in the series). Do yourself a favor and read this series, you will be glad you did. Now begins the long wait for Jasmine.

I have LOVED the previous books in this series
I have LOVED the previous books in this series. I was really looking forward to the next story. My biggest issue is that the author seemed more interested in the m/m aspect of this book than the storyline/plot. In the other books, each main character was given to the reader in full detail, including their past. Why they acted a certain way, etc. For example, Jared's scar. You learn what happened in a 1/2 page of dialogue. It's basically glossed over. Yet, this was a major point in his early life that shaped a big part of who he is. And Christian. we know from previous books his Dad & Brother abused him. But, the author does not expand on that in the book. It's a MAJOR factor in shaping who he became. She just plops the 2 together. All in all, I read the book, but if it was the 1st book of this author I had read, I probably would not read anymore of her stuff. Thank God I had read the previous books, & the one that came after this one. for that reason, I can't wait for the next book!!!

Great read
Well researched and written. The subject of Jared and Christian's love for each other was sympathetically dealt with. Human trafficking is an abomination. The research that has obviously gone on to provide possible solutions in this, and all Kris's books is amazing.

My favourite book of the series, romantic and loving.
I have to say I was never a fan of the interfering busy body Jared in this fabulous series, but when the bombshell was dropped that he was gay, I shot up in bed at 2am scaring my partner to death and shouted, 'oh wow Kris!' I couldn't wait to find out how Kris would write the story and it's perfect. Soft and romantic, beautifully written, (as always) these two characters, Christian and Jared were made for each other. You find out in chapter two if you can deal with m/m sex and need go no further if it's not for you, a clever move by Kris. Personally I found it a touching love story between two people and have read it a couple of times. Christian? Dogged by Jared, misfortune and abuse, just needs love and a chance to prove himself. Jared? Well he's grown on me despite his sometimes inappropriate jokes with Nick. Hum, Nick, there's a man that's going to fall hard when love strikes, can't be with Jewel so I think I can guess who it will be. Great book, loved every minute of it.

I have to say you will fall in love with Jared and Chris as a couple
Ok so not a huge fan of M/M romance but if you have read the previous four chapter books then you should read this one to keep your plot going. I have to say you will fall in love with Jared and Chris as a couple. No matter what your believes are love is love and it comes in all shapes, sizes, races and genders. It is love between a couple and if they accept it then so should the rest of the world. Good on Kris for keeping that open mind and writing this story for all to enjoy. Love the plot and its a great way to escape. Thank you. TT

The best Guardian so far!
No plot spoilersNo potential triggersThere are a couple of errors, including one that made me laugh, (afternoon light giving a golden hew) but certainly not enough to kill the book. The characterisation as ever is outstanding, both the lead and supporting characters. This is by far my favourite book in the series, the difficulties Jared and Christian experience in their journey make you smile and fume in turns but it's absolutely one of the best love stories I've ever read. There are some MM sex scenes and some swearing so if you get upset about either then you have been advised.I love the Guardian series and can't recommend it highly enough.

Not my favourite, but ok - Jared - Kris Michaels
I'm not a fan of M/M stories and normally wouldn't choose to read one. For the sake of continuity I chose to read this one. I liked Christian very much and although in previous books I disliked Jared I found he redeemed himself in this book. He was an unlikeable character in Jason's book, very arrogant and abrasive. He came around in Book 5.
