I was skeptical, just bought a magic key board and the Apple Pencil loves falling off . This was the best solution I found and it doubles as a second cover . They could improve on the cut out for the volume buttons but that’s first world problems .

As expected

I used this when I still used the Magic Keyboard on my iPad Air 5th generation. It integrated with that keyboard well and provided a little more protection. I hav since passed it on to my college student daughter and she likes it as well.

I bought this to be able to use the stock, Apple iPad, Magic Keyboard, and the pen, and have it all in one to charge the pen and hold it at the same time. It works excellent for that purpose and I love everything about it, it is not probably the most protective as The thin, although hasn’t broken for me yet is pretty thin. Your pain for the convenience of it fitting on the Apple Magic Keyboard but all in all, it does exactly what I want to and so far it’s held up very nicely. !
