I first must admit that I always want a perfect Christmas. Meaning, perfect decorations, perfectly wrapped gifts, and the perfect atmosphere. Well, I picked up a copy of this book and all that changed. Normally, I read very slowly, but I could not put this book down. Chapter after chapter told of the true importance of Christmas. People helping other people, the joys of the simple things, families that were happy despite having hardly anything, cute stories of precious children, family traditions, stories with some humor, etc. This book made me realize that having a perfectly decorated house is not what Christmas is about. It is about joy. The joy that you get from the small things. It really made me open my eyes. It is not a sad book of doom and gloom. It is a happy book about people who are happy and spread that joy even though they may have little. It makes you appreciate all of the joy we have surrounding us without the gifts and all of the Christmas buzz going on around us. I cannot stress enough how great this book is for anyone. Most of the time Christmas is a very stressful time as we try to do all of the things we think we should. This book shows that Christmas doesn't have to be that way. It can be very simple and very joy filled without all of the stress. Pick up a copy for yourself to read through the New Year or for next Christmas. This would also make an excellent gift for anyone.

Just as chicken soup is good for what ails you, this book is good for restoring and strengthening your faith. I have only started reading stories from the first chapter. I have enjoyed sampling short stories that are a reminder of the Biblical principle, "It is better to give than to receive." Recently, I was stopped by someone who wanted to know about "It's Christmas". She also has a Chicken Soup for the Soul library. I look forward to carrying this book with me throughout the holidays and beyond.

Excellent book for the Christmas season,from young to old. Old favorites, New traditions, inspiring stories of Christmas. The true meaning of Christmas and the magic of Santa Claus,helped to make the holidays,bright and cheerful. I would even recommend reading the weeks before and after Christmas. It is a book that makes you want to keep Christmas alive all year. Cuddle up in a soft warm blanket, by the fire place or your favorite chair, hot chocolate in hand let its Christmas fill your soul. It is truly difficult to read a chicken soup book and not like it! I loved the stories in this book, and I always read the author bios because that's kind of the finishing touch for each of the stories. Is it my imagination? Or are some of the stories getting funnier? Can't say, but at any rate, I love them.

I love the Chicken Soup for the Soul books, particularly the ones on Dogs and the Christmas stories. These books remind me of how good things are and often take me back to my childhood and young motherhood in my memories. I would recommend the to anyone who would enjoy a short story that will lighten the moment.

This came as a pre-christmas gift to my daughter (in lieu of candy in the advent calendar) We enjoyed reading the stories together as a family and my 11 year old read from cover to cover. Great book to get you in Christmas spirit.

Yet more good stories from the wonderful Chicken Soup range with heartfelt, warm accounts of Christmases past, involving families, friends, pets and strangers. I buy one of these every Christmas now and it is part of my tradition as my children are now grown up and new traditions have to be brought in.
