Perfect replacement for Austin XL
We have the Pitboss Austin XL. The original controller went out. Pitboss took 7 months to send us a new one. It was excuse after excuse. Finally got it and guess what, it went out too. Only after a month. I didn’t even bother with them again and found this one instead. I am glad I bought this. It fits perfectly. Works perfectly. And so far has lasted! Definitely get this one if you are having issues with your grill.

Ok. So rarely do I write 5 star reviews because there is always something that isn't perfect with all products. With that being said, I am more than happy so far with this controller. Went into a Pit Boss Austin XL and will be the third control unit for this smoker but first time using this brand. I've been using this grill for about 4-5 years and it gets used at least twice a week for everything from long smokes (brisket) to hot dogs and hamburgers so I know this unit very well. The Austin is notorious for crazy temperature swings and I've experienced them. The original controller worked ok but the display started to go bad. So I replaced it with another brand hoping I would have better results; didn't happen. When it finally died I wasn't too upset and looked for a "cheap" replacement. Price was right for this unit. So today is cool #1 (8lb ham). I have a "few" smokers/grills so I started a couple incase this controller let me down. Well I'll say this controller has been BY FAR the best of the 3 I've used in the Austin. I like using the "P" control and have been watching closely for the past 2 hours. I've got two digital thermometers that I know to be accurate watching temps and I've been 220 +/- 10 degrees with plenty of clean smoke. I couldn't be happier than I am right now. I will definitely do updates as time goes by but as of right now I'm very happy I went with this controller over all the others I considered. It's not a PID but also not priced like one either. For $50ish bucks this is a steal!

Fit Perfectly
Great replacement to replace the original display. Great quality, easy plug and play. Would reorder and highly recommend.

It works
Installation was a breeze. Took maybe 15 minutes. Don't know yet whether it holds temp, but display is bright and legible in daylight. It fired up grill for short test run

So far not good. Pellet auger keeps feeding
No setup instructions. I just installed it and the pellet auger will not turn off. It just keeps feeding pellets. The P setting is 7. I will update it the replacement works or not.It fit well in my PB500.
