304 Stainless Steel Deck Railing Connectors, for 2x4 (Actual 1.5x3.5in) Stair Wood Handrail Deck Railing Bracket (16 PCS, Black)

Went in without a glitch. Easy. Looks great.

No idea why they bothered including a bunch of cheap drill bits, they’re not usable quality.Putting my only complaint aside, this is a great product. Incredibly secure. Looks good. And will (safely) last years longer than cheap plastic hangers.

First, I am just starting in woodworking. I got these as decorative joists for 2x4 cross pieces for a Japanese garden project. The idea was to hang lanterns from the 2x4. Out of the box, the connectors were heavy and attractive. It comes with a drill bit and 8 screws per end piece, for a total of 16 screws. The screws were relatively cheap, and stripped far too easily. I should note that as I was drilling pilot holes, I did not realize with my first set that the side holes should be drilled at an angle, rather than straight down. The second thing to note is that I apparently hit a knot with one of the brand new drill bits and it twisted right apart. Aside from all that, I thought the slots could be a bit tighter around the rail/2x4 to avoid twisting when securing or having to use shims to keep it in place. I liked the way the looked on the project though. It really dressed it up. I'd buy them again if my project called for it.

The quality control of this item is great - on 2 of the 3 edges of it. The sides look perfectly clean, but and have been smoothed out to a great finish. The bottom portion, it's as if they never cared what it looked like to the customer. No level of quality control would have missed this side, so I don't get it.

I need three pair to complete a rush project on a second floor deck. I've used the plastic type like these before, but for the height, I want something stronger. I ordered a single pair box and a two pair box, both in silver. The double pair box came in silver, the single pair was black. I return the single pair for the right color, install the silver ones. The new single pair replacements come in and they are black too! I looked over the box this time and the box say they are silver, but they are black, just like the first box. Now I'm behind on the project, customer is pissed, and I don't know what color the reorder will be. Nice product, but poor quality control in the packing department!EDIT: I added a star. I ordered the set of two for the third time and I finally received a set of silver (gray) brackets. These brackets are much nicer than the plastic ones I've used in the past. If they would have shipped the right color the first time and not the third time, it would have been a 5 star review. Brackets are rock solid.

Built a handrail next to the concrete steps up to my patio. These made attaching the handrails to the 4x4 posts easy and super sturdy. Everyone comments on how strong the handrails feel. The brackets are heavy and look as though they will withstand the weather. Made the handrails easy to install. It took longer to find the pressure treated lumber (everyone was sold out) than it did to set the posts and build the handrails.

It’s too expensive but it’s a good product. I’m buying it again.
