I have to say I am pleasantly surprised at how well this works for my dog! She's a high energy husky/pitbull mix. 60 pounds and not only strong but can be stubborn. We were using a prong collar for quite some time as we worked with a trainer. Prior to that we were using a similar harness to this one and had a very difficult time, as this was when we first adopted our pup and she was in no way ready to listen to us. While the prong color was a life saver at the time, she has come a long way and I was hoping to ween her off of the prong collar to a more "relaxed" solution. Long story short, this harness was a perfect tool to transition away from the prong! She responds very well to the front pull. The materials feel very high quality and I love the different variations you can try with the leash hooks and handle. I would strongly recommend this harness.

Nicely built harness. I measured my dog's chest and ordered the Large, which according to the chart should have fit. After receiving the harness and taking all the slack out of the adjustable straps the harness was just too large, I have returned this one and ordered the Medium.

We bought this for our 6 month old lab, and to be fair she did pull a lot less with it. However, despite folowing the the sizing chart, it was too big for her and it didn't take long for her to chew through a strap. Now it's destroyed.Her chest measures 28", so we ordered the large size expecting that she could continue to use it as she grows. Per the manufacturer's sizing chart, the large harness fits chest sizes 26" - 32"., so it seemed to be the right size. She was also in the specified weight range.When we received it we were able to adjust the chest strap to be a good fit (the one that goes around her ribs). However, the other straps that go from her shoulders and connect under her neck were too long. We adjusted them as small as they could go, but still they were too loose.In just a matter of days, she figured out that she could get her mouth around those loose straps, and she chewed right through one of them. Now we can't use it.Apparantly this problem is not uncommon, and the manufacturer will repair up to two straps for just the cost of return shipping ($7). I might end up having it repaired, but after I pay for shipping both ways and wait the stated 4-8 weeks to get it back, I'll still have a harness that's too big.Very disappointing.

I've been using this less than a month on my 1 year old Golden Retriever, and so far I love it. My puppy is very exuberant, and no matter how hard I worked on his training, he would just not stop pulling on our walks. Regular rear clip harnesses just seemed to give him more pulling power and I was sure I was going to get road rash on my face one day.I'm now using the Freedom harness with the dual training leash, and while it is no magic pill, our walks are SO MUCH MORE ENJOYABLE for me now. The "brake" lead doesn't really work to get him to stop pulling, but a quick tug on the "steering" lead with a command to slow down almost always works. If not, we change direction so I can get his attention back on me. He pulls so much less frequently now, and not for long.Even when something grabs his attention, like a squirrel, and he completely loses his mind and tries to take off running after it, I am able to easily redirect him with this harness system. This has been a fantastic investment for me.

So far so good. My 18 week old Pyrenees wears a large, and this really discourages pulling!! He walks so well with it, however it doesn’t help move them forward, only keeps him from pulling. I hope it holds up. Also, make sure you’re using it correctly and read the directions. Once you get the hang of it, and have the fit perfect, it’s super easy to put on.

Coming out of the package, this looked like it would be difficult to get on my GSP. It was super easy! Fasten a couple of buckles and hook up the leash on both rings and you're set. It really worked to keep him from pulling as well. He tried a few times and each time, he ended up turned around, facing me. After that, walking him was easy peasy.
