Great game if you're familiar with modern board games
A quick look at the low reviews and they're mostly about complicated rules. I think the instructions can be simplified further but its not terribly written. Here's some tips to get you started:- This isn't a game you give to a 4 or 5 year old and have them learn on their own. This is a game you play WITH your child and that you both can make some meaningful decisions in.- This is cooperative. You win or lose TOGETHER.- Understand the flow of a turn. Here's a basic turn Spin > Did it land on food? > Put food in vault > spin again > Did it land on a number? > move the giant to the closest color > move that number of spaces > Did it land on sneak? > just move that number of spaces Player picks up item on the space they landed on Next player's turn.- want a shorter game? set it to 1 food per space. or just fill the spaces without regard for type. How you win: The premise is simple. Work TOGETHER to grab food from the giant and bring it to the farms below. In order to win, the players will need to have all the spaces filled with 3 food and have brought back the golden harp from the giant's vault. How you lose: There's a vault with 8 spaces and is where the golden harp resides. If those 8 spaces are filled up, then players will lose. There are a couple of ways these will fill up. On the spinner there are 4 food spaces, if you land on those, you add that type of food into the vault. The other is if a player is on a food space and a giant lands on that space. There's a fair bit of luck baked into the game. The spinner dictates how far you move and it also moves the giant. Movement is 3 or 4 so it isn't a big deal, but the giant movement can make things difficult with more players. The food tokens are also somewhat random. Each shape of the food tiles can be a certain set of food types. So when you land on a certain food tile, you may not get the exact food you need. This is more of an issue near the end of the game.Decision making is going to be limited, but there is a little risk/reward aspect to it. What type of food should I go for? Risk taking the key to get into the vault?Components are great. The paint is well done and the figures look great. The cardstock on all the pieces feel premium.I highly recommend this game. Its a theme that can be readily consumed by adults and children. It isn't just roll and move and do a thing a card says. You will both need to work together and strategize what food you need.

Good quality
It was on sale and we got it. Good quality and so far nothing is broken after being used many times. The game itself is not bad but i need to reread the instruction many times bcos it's a bit unclear. So far 5yr old and 7yr old like the game but they don't play it as often as other games we have.

Love Nostalgic Stuff!!!
Kids love it the look and feel of it!A bit fragile for a 4 year old but she lives to look at the setup and she is learning the game and rules and stuff but GET THIS GAME if you loved the Movie, I am 80’s guy and it was worth it!

Family Game Night
We enjoyed this game!! The only reason I gave it 4 stars is bc it arrived with a decent size hole in the front of the game box but everything was in tact inside. Beautifully designed box and game. Instructions were a little confusing so we watched a You Tube video and that helped tremendously. We are going to Disney so thought it was great timing and my 11 year old really liked playing this w Mom & Dad. Definitely think for older than 4 year olds even though they would enjoy game pieces sliding down the vine in itself.

Cute Game
This is such a cute game. The game construction and design is wonderful. The rules are a little tricky on the first go round but easy to pick up after the first play through.

Not sure about this 4+ business
My son loves this game, however, he doesn't actually play it. The pieces are very well made, the game feels sturdy, and it is fun having the pieces swivel down the beanstalk. But the game itself makes very little sense. If anyone has seen the Community episode with the old west TV game, it's like that. Exactly. Like. That. Minus the TV portion. Complicated directions with multiple steps and a million pieces. Also, there's no winner. Either you all win or you all lose. To summarize, I think it's fine for kids who just want to make up their own rules to games (basically all 4-6yo) but would not be good for kids who want to actually play games unless they have the patience of a Saint.

Super cute
My son loves the cartoon so we found this for him for Christmas and it was a big hit. The game play is entertaining and the pieces are adorable.

A little bit of everything, but might be better for 5 or 6+ years old.
Got this on the 'Treasure Truck'.As an adult 'boardgamer' I was actually pretty impressed by how fun this game really is. The instructions could be written a little bit better, but there's a youtube video that teaches you how to play in less than 5 minutes. With both of these resources together, I had the game rules down in 10 minutes, and my 5 year old knows them well too. The instructions really aren't that bad. You'll refer to them for the first couple playthroughs, but after that you're good. Each game is 30 minutes tops. This game has a little bit of everything: Counting, color recognition, shape recognition, problem solving, and strategy... even suspense! I think 4 years old might be a little young, but my 5 year old has no problem with it. She loves making decisions for herself and of course she especially loves sliding down the beanstalk.Honestly, this is one of the better games I've bought for the family lately. It's got just enough to it where it's not completely boring for the adults to play. If the rules are too much for you to explain to your kid, then you've got other problems to sort out for yourself. Take the time, for your kid's sake. They'll love playing this with you, and it's advanced enough where it won't insult their intelligence.
