High quality and smooth video
Owned for a month and works like a charm. No issues at all. I was afraid to purchase at first due to mixed reviews online. But I can confirm that I have no issues. 1 thing though, it came with a US adapter plug.

Arlo Pro 2. On paper looks perfect but it had some major software/firmware issues during the 3 weeks I had this system
In need of a easy to use CCTV system without the worry of wires is in itself a huge deal when you consider the tools and time you need, as even a simple job can become a long task. The Arlo Pro 2 promises great things and I,m a firm believer that you normally get what you pay for.Installing the cameras with the supplied magnetic mounts require no more than a single screw, and despite what you may think its actually very strong even in winds and hard rain the camera did not move, however I would not use these mounts outdoors. In most cases you will need a dedicated mount for a more secure fixture as a magnet method leaves it open to be taken with ease, or have a object thrown at it to move or remove the camera from its position. Although Netgear say this is a Indoor/Outdoor camera they do little to support outdoor use as you have to buy the mounts that are suitable for outdoor use. Not only do you need to buy outdoor mounts but they don't supply a weather proof power lead, neither do they sell one at this time due to a recall from their last attempt. You can get a third party power cable of which I used the Wasserstein for my set up which where made very well but did have a issue with a blue led flashing on camera which could have well been a camera fault. Wasserstein where quick to send me a new one in either case. You may be asking why do I need a outdoor power cable when the main feature of the Arlo Pro 2 is its totally wireless? Well the extra features that your paying more money for are only supported when plugged into the power 24/7, other than it being 1080p which most cameras are now.To get the cameras synced up to the base station is rather simple, in fact the whole base station and camera setup is easy, but I wont go into details here as I have more to cover. The idea for me was to have two cameras set up, one at the front of house covering my drive way, and the other out the back garden. Once I installed both, the next step was to learn the software and set up the features for my use. My aim was to set 3 modes Day, Evening, and Night. Each mode has its own settings such as the cameras in use, its trigger for motion and sound sensitivity. I found the options flexible enough that I had these modes put into a schedule in which where functioning at the correct times of the day. The most important thing to all this was how I can set up motion detection. Being that the camera has a wide view at 130 degrees it will get other areas in the shot so I had to make sure the near by road, and public pavement did not trigger off motion events. For this I used the Activity zones in which should ignore the areas outside the set zones (only works for 24/7 power option). Each trigger event I had set up to send me a push notification to my phone so I set these zones for motion in areas that where not likely to trigger of an event often. This all being good and well on paper would have been great and worth its cost, but my experience was far from ideal, in fact I had no choice to send it back, read on as to why.First issue was it had Request Timed Out messages while trying to live stream, then followed by buffering issues which made no sense being I had fibre optic at 43mps connection, and could watch full HD video via youtube fine. This issue suddenly went away for no reason after a few days, but soon returned, however my attention was no longer on this issue as I had much greater issues to contend with.I got constant notifications one after the other for no reason. Cars and pedestrians outside the zone where triggering off the camera. During the next 2 weeks in contact with Arlo support I tried everything from moving the camera, rebooting the whole system to deleting the whole software from my phone and removing all my settings. I had taken into account lighting, shadows, camera angle, and even made zones very small and far away from the road, yet randomly cars still triggered of events. My last test had me put both cameras out the front of house placing one camera on a different wall giving even a better view, yet at 100% sensitivity during night it didn't pick me up at all within just 13 feet away and walking across its path? I had taken the garden camera indoors to try some tests and I found it randomly choose to ignore people in the zone, and include people outside the zone at times as much as 12 feet from the set zones. It just so happens that Arlo had just release new firmware the day I had got my kit and it had many issues with not just the firmware, but their software app for mobile phones. Some issues where motion related, schedules being ignored, and cameras being disarmed to mention a few. I was at the point that I had tried everything and while tech support was initially willing to help, that help never went anywhere, and non of my issues where resolved. With this taken into account I had to send it back as it was clear Netgear did not have the expertise to deal with my technical issues, neither did they get back to me leaving my case ticket open. What are the chances that both cameras were both faulty when loads of other users where reporting some of the issues I was having? One camera had more saturation than the other, one had double the sound recording level which I found odd say the least. The outcome I would have liked was for Netgear to offer a new kit for my troubles while collecting this kit at the same time. I had very much liked the camera build quality, size, software layout and features but the software and firmware I feel was the let down of the the Arlo Pro 2. If you choose to buy this kit make sure you test these features out in case I was very unlucky. I would also say avoid using a skin that has a hood on them as this effects the contrast of night vision quite a bit.Its very expensive, did not work as it should have done regarding its motion detection, and zones. The company I felt was not too interested in solving its issues on a individual level, and never did get back to me on these unsolved issues. Since iv sent this back the Arlo Pro 2 has had several updates to its software however I still see complaints regarding the issues I had also experienced. For a much less cost you can purchase a Dahua with Startlight technology with much better motion detection options, and better night vision, plus recording direct to sd card. Use this with a i7 PC and Blue Iris software you could have a high end system that lets you record 24/7. I do hope Arlo gets the fixes it needs, and better support as I quite liked this system despite its major pit falls.

Better than expected - but night time vision is not great
I've read what feels like hundreds of very mixed reviews for these cameras but eventually decided to take the plunge with an Amazon Warehouse deal (advertised as opened with cosmetic damage - but was in perfect, unopened condition so seems I got a bargain!)SETUP:They are incredibly easy to set up. I was a bit nervous about the magnetic mount, but it feels really sturdy - we live in a very windy spot, no problems at all with them (apart from wind noise on the microphone).I installed over a window for ease of access - I went for above the 1st floor windows for security (our barn conversion did not make for a particularly tall house, installing below the upper floor windows could be knocked off by a broom handle or similar so went for the added security of higher up). This means the viewing angle is a bit higher than ideal (especailly for facial detail, perhaps), but on the other hand I get to see a wider field of vision.BATTERY:The reason I installed over a window was for access for battery charging. I won't lie - battery life was one of the main concerns I had. My cameras have been installed for over 2 months so far. The back garden view is still showing as 54% power and has not been recharged yet But then, it's light usage - usually the kids or dog running around, the occasional fox in the middle of the night etc.The front camera has just been charged for a 2nd time (each time I charged when it got to about 25% left), so about a month's life. I've been very surprised at how often this camera is triggered - it's pointed only at our drive so no passing traffic, but kids, delivery men, cars, foxes etc... average of 30+ hits a day, sometimes significantly more.So it's clear that battery life is driven by activity (unsurprisingly), but charging is quick and based on the installation location it's a doddle to replace the camera.USAGE:the video kicks in very quickly (e.g. if a car arrives the video starts with the full bonnet on the picture - so a split second delay). Notifications on the iPhone come through very quickly too, I guess this will vary according to broadband speed - I get about 7mbps upload, usually the notification comes through almost instantly. However - to watch "live" you then need to open the arlo app (with a thumb print on an iphone, other brands are allegedly available) - this takes a little while, and another little while to start up the live view - which IMHO means the potential for live interaction with a visitor is impacted somewhat. There's also a short delay before the recording appears in the feed. The voice interaction is also a bit delayed. It's reasonably loud, but you couldn't, e.g. have a conversation (have to hold down the microphone button whilst you're talking). It's OK - but I can't see it being a much-used feature. on the other hand, the sound recording on the video clips is much better than i'd expected.Video quality is very good in the daytime. Easy to zoom in and out (noting it's a digital zoom so you lose detail) to get a better view of what's happening.Night vision is not great, TBH. It's massively helped when security lights come on at the same time (even fairly dim / ambient outside lights help - full security lights are strong enough to trip the recording into daylight mode).Without lighting, it would pick up motion but I doubt you've be able to pick out many details of a potential burglar.OVERALL:very good system, with better night vision would be 5 stars.definitely made me happier about home security - fortunately we haven't had to test it properly against unwanted intruders (the siren is piercing inside the house!) but in 2 months it's picked up some strange behaviour from delivery drivers (e.g. one searched around for SEVEN minutes (including scaling a gate into the back garden) to leave a parcel before spotting a storage box right outside the front door). All innocent, but this makes you realise how much goes on when you're at work!Overall - very pleased with it, but for the price (and especially at the full normal price) I would expect better night time performance.Attached - example images, first of a daytime visitor (I haven't chosen a person or identifiable image for obvious reasons), second at nighttime (a fox triggered this, no security lights came on).

I problemi?
