Meghan: A Hollywood Princess

Nothing new!
I bought this as a joke present for a friend who has a crush - she's a very attractive lady. Having bought it I couldn't resist a quick squint. This book is light, sycophantic and appears to have been culled from readily available information on the internet. There's an interesting explanation as to why she listed stripper as one of her attributes on her CV. Apparently she had to learn how to strip for a film role (doesn't say which one!) and having acquired the skill thought she would add it to her resume - make what you will of that! With no prior connection to the UK, Meghan is an American divorcee who has grilled, stripped, acted and married her way into the upper echelons of British society. There's a fascinating tale to be told here, but this isn't it.The book seems to have been rushed out before the wedding, so you won't know why out of 800 guests, or whatever it was, there was only one family member present and no friends of longer than a few years standing. The steel it must have taken to walk herself down the aisle in front of millions of people without even the vaguest hint of nerves. Harry looked truly besotted. There's a whiff of danger to Meghan. I genuinely think there is something special/different about her. I just can't tell if she's special and different in a good way or an alarming way. Time will tell!

Desperate to pull the wool over the readers' eyes
I decided to read this book as there were so many conflicting stories bandied about. Meghan was well informed before committing herself to this marriage, that life would be diametrically opposed to her former lifestyle, and that she would need to learn the royal way of life and behave accordingly. She was warned in no uncertain terms by friends who knew the press and their relentless pursuit of salacious stories and that she would have to make a conscious decision to keep her head below the parapet and refrain from reading the gossip that would ensue. She has far too much baggage to be immune to media publicity, in fact seeing her now, she appears to relish any publicity she can raise. Harry too, was warned, lovingly by his brother, to think carefully. He didn't so we have this and probably many more books to follow. The queen must sigh quietly and regretfully behind the scenes. If you read this book, be prepared for a cover up and a glossing over of the real truth.

Boring read
Disappointed with this, it was basically extremely boring. I guess she hasn't really done much to warrant a whole book!!!

Read this in 2020
I read this book in the year 2020 so it is quite strange to read this knowing the current situation with Meghan and Harry living in the USA. The author has clearly researched Meghan's history extensively but I did feel it portrayed her as saintly.

One Star
Nothing like the author's Diana book. Found it very boring, lots of in depth information of useless information.

Recommended to Anyone Interested in Our New Princess
I felt this was a very balanced insight into Meghan's life before Harry, & a very positive look at how their relationship first blossomed. Some people think Meghan isn't fit to be royalty, but in my opinion she's everything I would want a princess to be. I thoroughly enjoyed this book & recommend it to anyone interested in Meghan.
