Stinks to high heaven
This does exactly as advertised. Great product. I use it under a window air conditioner to alleviate vibrations. Works perfect. The only reason it did not get a 5 star is the smell. Believe me when I say that the reviews saying that this smells dont even come close to the reality of the stench that these things put out. I stopped at the mailbox on my way to town and these were in it. The smell nearly knocked me off my feet. I threw them into the trunk and went to town. When I got home my family came out to see if I needed help carrying anything in and everyone thought that my gas tank sprung a leak (and that was with the trunk closed!!!)I had to leave my trunk open all night and sprayed the hell out of it with fabreze the next day. Even with that it still stinks now (just not as bad) over a week later. I also soaked the pads in fabreze over night. Now they are tolerable. If there is no hurry in what you need these for, they are a great product. But if you need them right now, beware of the smell. No matter what you imagine these smell like after reading this post, believe me when I say....your not even close!!!EDIT: After 3 months use. They still work perfect. Quality of product is excellent. Scent of the product has gone away. Took about a week of being outdoors for the scent to go away. Wish my trunk cleared up as fast. Took nearly a month before the smell dissipated out of the carpet.

So good, I bought two sets.
Used these to help quiet and balance the AC compressor unit outside of my home. HUGE DIFFERENCE! The noise my old compressor made was loud enough to hear in my upstairs bedroom. After placing these under the corners of the compressor and making sure it was balanced, it made an immediate improvement.I did notice a slight odor, I ordered two sets of four. All had a slight, chemical/petroleum odor but the smell was not near as bad as some of the other comments. Not sure if this was fixed in the later batches of product but I the odor wasn't bad enough to where I felt repulsed or worried. So, if you order them after Sept 2016 please post a review on the smell and see if your pucks are of similar quality or more like prior posts.

Cause excessive vibration for 1,100 pound air compressor
I tried four of these pads under a 1,100 lbs, 15 HP, 120 gallon vertical air compressor, but the compressor vibrated excessively. These pads seemed too soft. I ended up using a similar pad but with a solid rubber core (not foam), which provided smooth operation.Allowing your compressor to operate while vibrating will cause excessive wear on all moving parts in the compressor as well as the motor bearings. Using the correct pads is very important. These foam pads may work better with lighter objects weighing just a few hundred pounds, like a washing machine or small air compressor. However, the reason I'm giving 3 stars is because the seller stated that these pads would work well for my compressor and are used by them for compressors weighing up to a ton.

Used to quiet Air Conditioner.
When my cement pad was poured it was improperly connected to my house foundation. As soon as the AC turned on, that corner of the house would start humming and vibrating. The proper fix is to have 1" of the pad cut out and leave a gap so there is no transfer of vibration between the pad and the house. However, I decided to give these a try and see if they help.I put four of these under the Air Conditioner and it did reduce the noise by about 80% in the house, and reduced the noised outside by about the same amount. While I'll still get the cement pad cut properly next year, I'll definitely leave these in place to reduce the outside noise from the vibrating Air Conditioner. You can purchase 24 of these pads for $56 from other websites, but I only needed 4 so the $25 or so seemed fair to me.

and the noise from the whole wall shaking was going to annoy the neighbors
Put these under my Sears 2x42 belt grinder. I recently moved and was working on setting up a shed as a workshop, but when I turned my grinder on, it shook the table and the whole wall. The vibration in the floor was more than I was willing to put up with, even with a fatigue mat, and the noise from the whole wall shaking was going to annoy the neighbors. The four of these placed under the base changes all that. Very little vibration gets through, and they still give a solid base to work with. I'm ordering another set to put under a smaller benchtop for tools that won't balance on just the pads.

High quality, slight odor
When I received these pads, they sat on my desk fro a few days before I installed them. There was a bad petroleum smell coming from them. They were nose level in my office. Once installed I didn't notice the odor. They seem to be of good quality, and a great price.A year later: Works as advertised. No issues. Perfect for my 60 Gallon 5hp upright air compressor.

Good product but adhesive starting to release after pulling out of package
Nice product, good dampers but seems they should have easily gone thru better QA... Two of the 4 pads had the corners flapped up from the adhesive letting go. This is all before using them... Dissapointing. Used Gorilla glue and installed them under the compressor. They do what they are for very well but no product should be delaminated from the start. Too much trouble to return, easier to glue.

The smell is almost unbearable
I should have read the reviews first. The good - They are heavy duty, seem well made, and even look good. The bad - They smell like a gasoline fueled fire at a tire factory.Just opening the package (which has a prominent cancer warning sticker) stunk up my whole house. I washed them with soap and water, not much help if any. I removed them from the house, and the next day can still smell them inside just from the box being in the house.I'm glad to read in another review that the smell wears off (or does your sense of smell just die).
