Präsent - Rayon Raffia Biodegradable Ribbon Black 100 Meter Spool

I’m making a bag, for the yarn material is what I needed, cause it has to be water resistant. BUT IS TOO SHORT!!! you have to buy 4 of them which is 150 dirhams when you can buy ready made item from mass market, is not worth, I ordered two at the first and now I need two more, what a waste. Not even enough for 1 bag.

So, in my quest to be more environmentally friendly when giving gifts to people for birthdays and Christmas. I was opting for tissue paper and wanted a biodegradable string that I could use to tie the presents. I did look for a proper ribbon but felt this was unlikely to be reused by the recipient and I tried to purchase a string but for whatever reason, it seemed that everyone else on the internet was also buying string and quilling paper reels and I can get me.I found this product and had not heard of it before It looks like a reel of a paper-like string that you would use to tie around your wrapped packages.I was quite surprised when I got it as it does look like the offcuts from biodegradable plastic bags that used to be able to buy at Tesco and it does say it's biodegradable but it feels like plastic and it doesn't look as great as I'd hope medium to low strength. So in terms of using it for a different purpose, I'm not entirely sure what it would be useful for and I now have a massive reel. I worry a lot and I did think that it made the gift look a little less than it would have if I had bought string or a quilling paper reel to use to tie the gift. However, knowing that it's biodegradable did give me some peace of mind and I'm going to persevere with it so that I can use the entirety of the reel so that I don't cause further waste and a further negative impact on the environment.

Looks and feels like plastic bags... and not even the good quality ones! :( I bought it thinking it was natural raffia, if in the description it actually said what this product was made off I wouldn't have bought it.
