Q: Can I sue this on a coated mylar surface to make its surface more ink absorbent?

I don't think you understand how this is used. The powder is put inside and wiped over a stencil to mark a quilt for Free Motion Quilting. It has nothing to do with ink.

Q: is this iron off or wash off powder?

Q: if I were to mark a king size quilt does it stay on after folding it up to take to a long arm or would I have to keep marking it?

I couldn't get it to work. Never saw the markings and it just made a mess. I finally resorted to a chalk pen to do the baby quilt i made.
