Proqualite Ex Long Straight Perm Kit From Japan

Aug. 2018 Update. So after almost a year, I finally gave myself another home-hair-straightening using the Utena kit. Although I was happy with the results after the 1st try, I put off straightening my hair again for 2 reasons: 1) too tired most days to go through washing my hair 4 times which is what the process requires, then blow-drying it straight; 2) my hair was definitely damaged from the last go around.But I finally got so sick and tired of my hair being so messy and pouffy, sticking out in all directions, that I bit the bullet and gave myself another straightening perm. I used this product on a Friday night so that I would have the weekend to stay home with dirty hair. What I mean is, I treat this product like the professional Japanese hair straightening I used to get which required me to go without washing my hair for 3 days after the processing. I normally wash my hair every day so I generally give up after 2 days, and even the 2 days is pretty bad in the summer time. Anyway, I forgot to bring the kitchen timer into the bathroom with me so I probably ended up leaving the product on my hair too long before washing it off. Why do I say the? Because chunks of hair were going down the drain as I was washing my hair in the shower. Even now, 2 weeks afterwards, there is a lot more breakage every time I wash or brush my hair. But, I have a lot of hair. So on balance, I am still glad I straightened my hair. The pouffiness at the top of the head is gone, and it is much easier to get my hair shiny and sleek. I still have to use a straightening iron to get the shiny, sleek look, but it takes maybe 1/3 of the time. So yeah, if I can muster up the energy required, I would do this to my hair again, Hopefully that will not take another year.Original Review:First some context. I have thick, coarse, frizzy, poufy Asian hair that reaches the middle of my back. For the last year, I've been dying it on & off, using the Japanese boxed bubble dye, so it's not in the best condition. When I lived in a big city, I used to spend way too much money on visits to salons for Japanese "Magic Straight" perms. Eventually, the hair was too damaged to continue the treatment. About a year ago, I tried the Ogilvie hair straightener, bought on Amazon, and was pretty happy with the result. But it looks like the Ogilvie hair straightener is no longer available. I've looked on eBay as well as Amazon without luck. So I tried this Utena straight perm. It arrived pretty quickly from Japan (in about 2 1/2 weeks), & it was packaged well. I tried it out last night (9/4/17), and it seems to be a big improvement on the "Magic Straight" & the Ogilvie product in terms of the time required and ease of application.There is no English instruction, so I went by the instructions on the Amazon product page. I think the whole process took about 40 minutes, then another 40 minutes or so blow drying then ironing the hair straight (This is a key step in the process, not explained on the Amazon product page). That's compared to about 6 hours at a salon getting the "Magic Straight" perm, and about 2+ hours for the Ogilvie box perm (including the blow dry/ironing part). Also, I have a lot of hair. It may take you less time to dry/iron your hair. Note: Another key parts of the salon "Magic Straight" is waiting 3 days after the treatment to wash your hair. This is not part of the instruction on the Amazon webpage, and I normally wash my hair every day. But in the interest of science, I am going to try to wait at least 2 days before my next shampoo. I will update this post if my hair turns out to have been ruined by this product. But as of now (day after the treatment), the hair looks GREAT, straight, soft, and silky - exactly like it does after the "Magic Straight" treatment.

Damage hair

This product is made in Japan and everything is in Japanese. There is a small label in English but not much information you can get from it. Not sure how to use as there is no English instructions. I was trying to follow the pictures but the pictures don’t show a lot of detail. I was wondering why did I buy it and thinking about returning it.

This thing you have to figure it out yourself due to not having English instructions. I did it, but I didn't leave it for too long because I wasn't sure for how long to leave it on. I left it on for about 10 minutes the 1st one and like 15 minutes the second one. I guess if you leave it more it will work better, but I didn't want my hair to fall off, so I did that. It did work a little, so maybe I just needed it to leave it for more time and that's why I gave it a 3* because I think if you speak Japanese you can get a good result. Blah, people need to put things in other languages if you are selling out of Japan. Here in America products usually have at least 3 languages. It will be nice if this product would had had clear instructions. I do not recommend no one to buy unless you know the language and can follow the instructions.Edit: after using it, although it was for only 10 minutes this thing really work. I first left a 3 star, but change it to 5. My hair was silky and beautiful for about 6,7 months. I now do recommend it. The woman from the hair salon complemented my hair and told me how healthy it looked ( a professional) and didn’t even notice I used this. Just do 1,2,3,4 leave it for 20 minutes, for me 10 was more than enough time, but I guess the longer the straightest. You should get better results than me if you want really straight hair. For me I was looking to just loosen my curls not take them all away and for my surprise it worked really well. For instructions just look for other straightener instructions and videos and you should be good. Thinking of doing a YouTube video for my next order to help people out. I somewhat satisfied the results,because it's home hairkit, how much you can expect, it makes my hair softener, I really glad the results but my hair still looks puffy. I still need iron my hair! I may leave 5 more mins when I applied 1 and 2, don't know will that damage my hair. If I want to apply again, how long I should wait? Hope someone can give me the answer.

The media could not be loaded.  I am very happy with the results of this product, to use it I followed the instructions in English that came with it. It worked very well for me, I have very thin hair, it has some waves without being curly, but it has a lot of frizz, so that was the main reason why I bought this product. I left 15 minutes in each step, after each step my hair felt softer and silkier, after finishing I dried and ironed my hair, it turned out beautiful, super straight, shiny and with good movement. In my case the treatment lasts about two and a half months. Maintenance was easy, after each wash I only ironed my hair once and then it stayed neat the rest of the days until my next wash. The products come in abundant quantity and have a delicious fragrance. Totally recommended, I will definitely use it again.

So I read the instructions, watched a Youtube video, and used a timer meticulously. All this did was damage my hair. No difference to it's level of curliness but now strands break a lot more easily. Do not recommend.

I’m Asian with natural wavy hair. It shouldn’t be so hard to straighten this but after loosing hair and hours in the bathroom. My hair came out exactly how it was. Totally worthless

これは、個人差、髪質によるので、正解かどうかは、よく分からないなぁ。。。自己満足するかどうかは、使わないと分かんないですね。。。今回は部分的に使ったので、美容院行くよりかは安上がり！って事ですね！
