This is one of those things that you don't realize how much you need it until you've had it for a while. It can fill the huge gap between freezing and comfort while skiing or just being outside on a very cold day, but it can also cover you up from the sun on a brutal desert trek without making you too hot. Just as important is that it folds up so small that you can keep it in your pack at all times, whereas a regular neck gaiter is an item you have to remember. Finally, it's soft and quite comfortable and always seems to un-stretch back into place.It seems like Buff now has a few different weights to choose from depending if you want one primarily for hot or cold situations.

If you are outdoorsy at all, you know what a buff is. I became familiar with them a few years ago when we traveled to Lapland in the Arctic Circle. For that trip we got wool ones and the were fantastic! They kept us all warm and comfortable. However, I live in the Arizona desert and here the wool ones aren’t practical. When j saw that buffs existed for heat, I had to try them. The fabric on this buff is amazing. It’s moisture-wicking and keeps you super cool when hiking in the heat. They also offer UV protection. I am super impressed and all of the different materials that they offer for Buffs. They have a Buff for every need. I highly recommend this one.

I use this for cold weather biking, so many different ways to wear it and it comes in real handy especially if it gets colder when you're out. Even just down around the neck it keeps it nice and toasty and keeps wind out of your jersey.
